Strange, I didn't detect any ambiguity in Keefe's comments. Didn't he say: "The difference between us and Arizona is that we have elite players... Our elite players didn't play like elite players."

Isn't that stating, pretty clearly, that our best players have been performing below expectations so far? Isn't that what we've all been seeing and talking about as well? What's the problem here for the player?

Man. This club just needs to string together some W's and change the narrative. It's too early to be this annoyed, lol.

I was confused as well but I understand now what the issue was.

Keefe's comments could be interpreted two ways. First is how everyone did, that our elite players didn't get the job done. Second way is that our elite players are overrated and not actually elite.

This is why his explanation is saying very clearly he meant they didn't produce (meaning he thinks they are elite players). The team internally feels the pressure for sure and I think this is not about the locker room, this is about trying not to give the fans and media anything right now. Didn't work if they didn't over react we aren't talking about this anymore

I saw Brian, Brendan and I think Rose from a distance on Saturday night in hallway near elevator as i was leaving Hot Stove but I was on phone so didn't say hi just waved .. but they were in building for sure

Brendan is at every home game because I see him. Not sure on the road.

Great Mitch make yourself and the team even more unlikeable to the fans.

The team doesn’t look any tougher to play against compared to last year. Only noticeable difference is Matthews throwing his weight around more and I forget the guys name but the guy who hits on the fourth line. Besides that the team looks the same as it always does and now Muzzin is out. Gio looks a bit dated and there is no physicality on the back end now.

Been saying it for years, we have a great team but our system and style of hockey is off. We can have 50 perimeter shots with no screen on the goalie or pass the puck 30 times on the PP to get a shot with no screen on the goalie and it doesn’t matter.

We control the puck for most of the game because we just pass around and around instead of actually getting to the net and tough areas.

Haven’t really posted much or followed this year because this style of hockey is bland and doesn’t work. Hope to be wrong GLG

His backtracking, to me, is a way worse look.

Marner saying it’s behind closed doors, makes it seem like it was an issue. He should have said, ya we sucked, I’m embarrassed and we’re going to fix it.

Has the highest point% of any active coach (.675 over Bednar (.635) and Cooper (.604) so unless you think Dubas has built a team that should be auto winning the cup like the 80's Oilers then I think we may be a little overcritical of the coach here.

Either Dubas is good and the coach sucks, or Dubas sucks and the coach should be a Jack Adams winner with those numbers but both can't be true.

I've seen this before with Bruce Boudreau and the Caps during their regular seasons.

Team was 2nd in the league in goals last year.
That passing around stuff actually works.
