I'm a little disappointed with this. As many have mentioned though he's the first one gone if things go sideways. However theyll most likely be a good regular season team again.

How long do you extend him then? You'd have to think if they're gone 1st round again next year he's gone. Which is pretty likely or good odds.

Not to be a Debbie downer I just figured he'd bring in his own guy. Keefe just always gets out coached in the playoffs.

Not that a change couldn't be made at any time but I imagine the two talked about Trelivings vision for how the team would play going forward and if Keefe buys in, there is no reason not to start the season with him and see how well he executes the vision.

Some demon or something possessed Shanny. The real Shanny would know this is not a SC caliber team, he knows that a real SC champ looks like. He would never approve of this. I really don't know why he became so soft as he has gotten older.

He's just saving his own ass now for a job. Keeping Keefe means they still have another bullet in the chamber. It's a nice job for Shanahan, he makes more than he ever did as a hockey player without the wear and tear on his body and some sweet perks working for MLSE. He's going to cling to this job like life and death.

I'd also imagine Shanny is a factor here too. He wouldn't have hired Treliving if he wasn't ready to continue with Shanny's own vision for the team. And I think by all accounts Shanny seems to like Keefe

Treliving spoke well of Keefe at is initial media introduction, so I'm not super surprised by this news

If Keefe is back, then one of the core 4 forwards has to go imo. It doesn't make sense to me to run it ALL back again. The fringe players can only contribute so much... and I feel they did their job this past playoff.

I personally would like to see a coaching change, that being said, let's see how it progresses.

I'm praying that it was Dubas all along that made him play Holl and Kerfoot and to play a certain way. Way too many depth players came here and forgot how to play that made them impactful because we can't seem to get the best out of all our players.

I bet it was Dubas that made Babcock healthy scratch Martin in the playoffs while he was the Marlies GM too. Probably was in Lou’s ear about getting Captain Marshmelleau signed to teach the kids how to maintain an iron man streak.

If only there was a higher up member of management that was in charge over both Lou and Dubas’s teams that has repeatedly bragged about how happy he is that he was the single biggest voice in making the game softer since the lockout…

The difference is the core will be locked in with there NTC's. Why the f*** can't I get away from this garbage team f*** me.

Treliving has one coach replacement before the heat is on him. He isn't going to burn that before the season starts.

They might extend Keefe, but it doesn't really mean much, as they can just fire him whenever anyways.
