I still think he's a good coach but he deserves a lot of criticism right now. He's overthinking things and it's hurting the team. Good thing he still has a few games to get this right.

I'd fire him the next loss. Not sure who's available at the moment but I doubt it could be worse.

It would cause so much turmoil with the woke crowd but the guy has been taking courses/classes and genuinely tried to get better as a result of what occurred.

Hard to argue the success too.

Could the star guys handle a guy like this? He's tough but fair.

Doesn't go to the extreme of Babcock either.

First thing he would say is... Where's Kadri, that's the kind of player you win with.

First reaction the players would have is being frightened by his demeanor followed by a stuffed complaint box.

I don't mind Keefe putting everything in the blender right now, and it clearly isn't producing results, but they may learn a few things from this. As long as they dial it back in for the playoffs, the team goes on a roll through multiple rounds, the goaltending holds together, the guys fight through checks, the scoring clicks, we get a few breaks, the calls go our way, and the city gets a champion, I'm all good.
What have we learned so far.. just us a fans

Honest question.. what are we learning

He’s like the polar opposite of Babcock, and not in a good way.

Babs was a hard headed ego maniac that would just roll the same 4 lines and make 0 changes/adjustments.

Keefe is like an OCD child that has to change things just for the sake of changing things. He just can’t help himself.

It needs to be somewhere in the middle. The ability to change things up when necessary, but also stability to build chemistry.

It’s laughable that we’re 3 weeks away from the playoffs and Keefe can’t realize this.

Jarnkrok - Matthews - Marner
Tavares - O'Rielly - Nylander
Bunting - Acciari - Lafferty/Knies
Kerfoot - Kampf - ZAR/Lafferty

McCabe - Brodie
Rielly - - Schenn
Giordano - Holl

Ever since that one game where Bunting was going insane screaming at the refs his game and standing on the team has gone down…….maybe he needs serious help

So we went 11-7 kind of out of necessity with Acciari out and here is how the D men ice time ended up being.
Brodie- 21:43 ES- 17:15
Rielly- 19:54 ES- 14:19
Gio- 19:25 ES- 14:21
McCabe- 19:19 ES- 16:58
Holl- 16:16 ES- 12:06
Liljegren- 10:07 ES- 8:22
Schenn- 7:55 ES- 7:43

Schenn played only 3 shifts in the third as well, and only 2 after we took the lead.
Keefe pretty much played 5 guys all night despite having 7 D. Funny Lilly played 3:48 in the third so 3rd pairing mins when he was the 7th d in the first 2 periods. If you don't trust Schenn enough even in a 1 goal lead(I don't blame Keefe) then why did you add him? Lilly in his limited mins had an excellent game today, yet you can see he's still not confident but today was a good step.
If Lilly can even play at the level he did today, he offers more then Schenn and even Keefe kind of noticed that with the usage today

The team needs more of that honestly, it gets too quiet on our bench when things are going bad

Looking from the outside the Leafs don’t seem to have that extra hostility gear that’s sometimes needed in the heat of the playoffs. So if you have to generate some friction in the room to take onto the ice against your opponent. I don’t mind.

This guy really doesn't get it. Look at this quote before game four of Florida series:

The production and performance of these guys that we're talking about and questioning, they're the reason why we're here, why we're even playing when there's only eight teams left," Keefe said, according to Sportsnet's Luke Fox.

Toronto is making one tweak to its top line, bumping Michael Bunting off left wing in favor of Calle Jarnkrok.

"When you get into a game like this, you look at the big samples," Keefe said. "Our team has been the best, our lines have been the best when it's been Matthews, Marner, and Jarnkrok. That's the best line we've had all season."

"they're the reason we're here" ..... Keep pumping their tires Keef, while insulting the rest of your team. I know if I'm Orielly, reilly, Samsonov, Tavares, Nylander etc, I'm really feeling appreciated and want to go out into battle for my coach.

Leave Sheldon alone. It's the GM's team building philosphy and player selections that any coach has to live with. That's the job description of the GM. He hires a coach to carry out his plan.

Tkachuk said as much when pointing out the other day why Toronto lost and Florida won.

Tkachuk thinks he's in the WWE and his voice carries meaning. It doesn't. He's a brash, trash talking shit disturber and his endorsement of Keefe has no merit other than to poke and prod at a market and fanbase, and going to bat for a division rival's subpar coaching can be taken as disingenuous.

He can go Tkachuk himself.
