That's the cringe part about him, he's a boring attention whore. Have I simplified it enough for you now?

Truly fascinating you believe what you are saying is at all sensical.

What would be your ideal characteristics for a marketable player? Keeping in mind they cannot be “boring” and do things like talk about their family frequently but also not PK Subban-ish.

I also don't watch late night much anymore (especially since cutting the cable) but isn't it crazy how not everyone watches everything?!
That's probably the reason why hockey isn't more popular!

Get over it.
The whole point of what I said is that "television" is no longer THE source of media. There are countless podcasts, youtubers, streaming services with just as many, and often times MORE viewers than "late-night TV". So making a post about an NHL'er being on Jimmy Fallon is not newsworthy anymore.

If anything, it just exposes him to a small niche left-leaning audience, who wouldn't like Matt Tkachuk anyways.

Get over it?

to your point, the tonight show youtube channel has 32 million followers. It's not like the interview airs on cable and poof disappears.

Imagine thinking that the Tkachuks will only have one avenue of media exposure.

You're right, they'll only have their one chance at 15 minutes of fame and wasted it on late-night TV like some humanities story on lemonade and bake sales for a kitten with 33 deformities.

Yeah and the video has 78k views...

Not every subscriber watches every video. Not every view is representative of a subscriber. Exposure is exposure. What's so difficult to get here? Would you rather <insert hockey player> have no interviews at all?

Seriously boomer takes in here left, right and centre.

The worst thing about hockey is the fans....on this site. Ugh. Tkachuk gives a nice interview with a prominent late night talk show host and the grinches poop on it. Get a life.

People who are left on the political spectrum don’t like/don’t care about hockey? Where is the basis for that information?

I also don’t watch any of these late night shows (haven’t since Letterman), but no matter where I go, I cannot escape people bitching about Jimmy Fallon. Don’t really get it. He’s pretty easy to avoid considering he only shows his face after 11.

Of all the players, why? Also, why didn’t the NHL do this during the 2 day game break during the 4 Nations?

Would you rather have McDavid sit there with his bland personality, barely able to crack a smile, and be forced into replying? With all of those replies being canned responses like after games of course. Yeah, that will illuminate the game!
I thought you needed to win to be interviewed?

Yeah, cause I'm sure most NHL players would rather have some made up 4 Nations win that didn't even include the juggernaut that would have been Russia, over the Cup he just won. Most NHL players never talk about winning the Cup and him winning that cup, clearly wouldn't be important in terms of the "win to be interviewed" stipulation you proposed.

I suppose that luckily, those of us who are hardcore fans enough to bother posting on a hockey message board are a minority of hockey fans, albeit a vocal one. :P
