It remains to be seen if Pinto has the consistency of Norris. Norris can just consistently take that same shot over and over again.

Pinto on the other hand seems to have a bit more range and versatility in terms of where he can take that one timer from. He seems to be able to hit it on the spin in the high slot, similar to Bergeron and Point. For all Norris's ability, he doesn't take that kind of shot very often.

This may mean Pinto can create more unique scoring opportunities. But at end of day, if Norris can just always capitalize on the perfect pass in the perfect spot, then he can stay ahead. This is similar to ovechkin. Everyone knows what he's going to do, but it still happens.
People sleeping on Norris, thinking he’s a one trick pony is hilarious.

I was afraid that when I mentioned Ovechkin people would think I was over-hyping Norris. But sure, this is another direction to go.

Is it just me or might he have a better shot than Norris?
He certainly has a harder shot but remains to be seen if he can pick his spots consistently.

He has been on a preseason heater which is always a little dubious but he was playing so well in his previous NHL games I don't think it is luck.

Pinto is going to have fans all over the NHL by mid season...analysts will love him.

Pinto seems to bury it if he even gets half a second to pick his spot inside of the hash marks

Yes but preseason with lots of room against 2nd and 3rd string goalies.

Big believer, just adding context.

Modern day Joel Otto. He will be used as a match up center at least until someone else emerges.

If stars can bridge Robertson after his 40 goal season, I'm sure we'll manage to bridge Pinto as needed. If he scores 50 points, 5.5M x 4 and he's still RFA after.

TBH, it's not impossible for it to happen without injuries.

DJ could try to create 3 balanced lines. Pinto is already showing some chemistry with Giroux and DeBrincat on the 2PP.

I would not be shocked if we saw something like:

Motte-Norris-Batherson
DeBrincat-Pinto-Giroux
Tkachuk-Stutzle-Joseph

I would be shocked to see that …

What line would you put on ice
For defensive zone face offs vs Matthews ?

it should be Pinto or Giroux but you’ve got your best goal scorer starting a shift 200ft from the other teams net.

I don't expect him to be pushing for top 6 C by the end of this year (thankfully). But by the end of his bridge, when Giroux's contracts up, for sure I can see him being a 50-60 pt two way force. Guy is a lot stronger on his skates than I'd have thought of a college kid.
