Post-Game Talk: Shameful Leafs lose 3-2

This is what happens when a team thinks they are better, finds out they are not better and panics. Failure to manage the puck/clock has resulted in two losses at home. This is not Stanley Cup winner hockey. No Cup winner has ever played like this and raised the cup. Knowing the constitution of this team this series might be over in 4. Oh well at least we will get a new coach out of this debacle.

I've described this team and scrambly many times, last night was scrambly, panicked, not purposeful hockey.

Are we going to have a hearing for this hog collar and driving Knies head into the board's/ice? Just because it was sneaky does not mean its not a suspension worthy act.

Why does this team go into coast mode after winning a series? Next thing we hear it’ll be about how they need better emotional management having come off the Tampa series. Need to refocus and reset in the shock of not playing Boston, etc. So many mental things with this club.

Toronto needs to break up the co called core 4 or 5....going no where with them. Allocate the $ elsewhere....with the caveat that a new GM be in charge. Dubas is too emotionally attached to his players & coach to do it....

if Leafs are to lose the series I'd prefer they get absolutely embarrassed and swept

this will hopefully lead to

1) New Competent GM and Coach
2) Players' pride will get hurt and next year they will show up angry instead of "oh we pushed the series to X games"

For me as a Leafs fan I either want a series win or they get completely embarrassed. It will be for the good of the franchise in the long run

P.S. I did not underestimate Panthers at all. They have been playing playoff hockey for more than a month. Thats a team more prepared than other teams, in a manner of speaking

We've given this roster way too many chances. Keefe should've been gone or one or both of Marner or Nylander.

Something needed to be done. Yet this team once again looks like the very same flawed team from the years past. Making the very same mistakes.

Frustrating that we've wasted what should be our prime cup years experimenting with a rookie coach and GM. Shanahan definitely watched moneyball a few too many times.

I'd there is a silver lining to this year, it's we donally get change in the offseason.

Still having immense trouble with the aggressive forecheck. Tampa/Florida play a similar system, and no adjustments from the coaching staff...not blaming Keefe entirely for being down 2-0, but at some point you have to make adjustments no? I don't mean swapping wingers either, although if we're talking lineup changes I'd swap Gus for Gio.

Watching RoR dive to block that open net shot in the dying seconds of the game reminded me of the lack of effort or hatred of losing that Matthews did not display on that series clinching empty net goal vs (Columbus?) just gliding into the zone.

This team is so lethargic in situations its actually very frustrating to watch.

These guys still haven’t learned from all the losing. we play the playoffs like it’s still the regular season
When other teams win they do because of their stars yet Leafs lose because of their stars! They can go on to win this series still, these things will still be true!
