I wouldn’t be shocked if they get swept or win 4 in a row. This team is always a roller coaster. 1-4 at home yet 3-0 on the road.

Wonder what “lessons” Tavares learned today.

He passed to Tavares 50 times tonight and Tavares couldn’t finish.
If I've told you once I've told you a million times: don't exaggerate!

It's been like that for years, except on the PP.

You would think that Keefe might possibly have had a small inkling that perhaps there was a little chance that they weren't maybe the best to put together?

TBH the Leafs could have scored on that PP and still let Florida back in this game with how they were playing.

It was the start of the second period for me. Seriously get your shit together and get going.

It’s shocking to me that they could have lost the series in less than a minute in the second in that sequence and the big 2 lines were so oblivious to the swing moment they were in.

It’s like a pendulum swing that could have serious impact for the rest of the series. We’re now looking at going down to Florida, where coming home for Game 5 down 3-1 would be considered somewhat successful…

You've been going on about these analytics since the deadline and we've made it further than all those better analytic teams we had that you probably loved so much. Engvall got traded, didn't make any impact for the Islanders just like here. It's time to move on from that crush and realize that some of these analytics you like to follow so dearly aren't as important as you were told by someone. There's probably a reason why our very analytic following GM decided change was needed and it's worked so far and would be looking even better if Samsonov made some saves on shots he should've saved, or if players who have good analytics turning the puck over in critical areas of the ice leading to those goals/scoring chances.
.....it's literally 0-2. You're acting like it's pre-series thread and I'm making predictions off my analytics.

All I'm doing is showing how the current results are consistent with past results (*post-deadline, round 1 comparisons). Relax.

Game 3 down 0-2 is the perfect time for Woll. If he wins? Great, his net. If he plays well in a loss? Ok, still his net. If he's ass? Great, back to the "starter" with a longer track record of being ass in the playoffs

it just infuriates me. they have 4 guys standing at the blue line denying you entry skate up with speed dump the puck and go get it and set up. but they don't do that for fear of getting any physical contact on PP.

I don't know if we have hockey players on this team or primadonas

If you do the math, you actually have a 9 man pile up by the time the last drop pass swing man has made his way up the ice. What’s the f***ing difference if you entered then or 15 seconds ago when there was also a pile up? Tactical idiocy. Season after season.

Marner was the trigger man half of the PP with Matthews playing the point. Makes no sense unless Matthews wrist is bugging him once again.

Leafs have some serious decisions to make with Matthews, can you really make him top paid player in the league when he seems to carry an injury the majority of the year

My biggest concern in this series would the Leafs losing easily .. they put up such a fight just to win a round, never going less than 6 games, and when they finally make it through they look like they could easily get swept in round 2 .....

It's frustrating.

Dubas went and got a made of glass goalie (murray) and a magic 8 ball shot in the dark goalie (samsonov)

you wanna blame someone you know where to point the finger
At this stage of the seasons when a lot of the talk between games is about what line up they’ll ice, finding line combos and hiding D, are we really talking about a contending team?

Management set a goal to win one round and, despite getting badly outplayed, they’ve accomplished that.

If they can squeeze one more home playoff game out of the season, they’ll exceed my expectation

Makes sense but like I said I believe in the 180. We have a team that can make new trends starting game 3
We have 4 guys that can do it. Not a team. You will never convince me Dubas built a good team.

I still include Marner because no matter how much I rag on him I know he can take over games if he can figure it out. I just lost hope in him figuring it out.

Not feeling confident that being said I wouldn’t be confident if we won both games too. I guess that’s the Leafs fan I’m me. Lol. I guess we will see if they really do like playing in Florida more.

We all wanted to see if winning the first round would shoot them out of a cannon and unlock a new gear (like it did for Florida) but they just don’t really play honest playoff hockey where you can say they did everything they could and now their luck is running out too. Maybe they’re just never going to grow up and be good enough.

Exactly my thoughts.

Literally better in every single metric, just couldn't score.

They scored enough, but blew it. You could win with 2 goals if you play the game right. Leafs gave the game away. These are the playoffs, you can't rely on having to score 4 goals to win a game.

You're saying Florida has been a top team since the deadline and Leafs have been mid or bottom of the league and that the analytics show that and you aren't surprised we're down 0-2. Yet we've dominated a team that's apparently much better than us and there's people out there who saw this 0-2 series coming from a mile away because analytics told you so? I don't know anybody who would've said Florida would be up 2-0 because our team is worse. Maybe if you asked someone who didn't trust Samsonov.

In fairness what sure thing goaltender was available? All of the options were shots in the dark.

decisions have consequences. dubas' decisions in the past have present consequences -> we couldn't get a good goalie because we had no cap space. And the one we had he squandered it on murray.

hockey trade could have been made too for picks out dollars/cap hit in.

or UFA signing. Simple examples

1) Grubauer
2) Georgiev

am sure there were others. I'd have to look it up

like i said decisions/choices have consequences; the decisions made by shanahan have had consequences for all to see
