It's not that Bob's playing great.

It's the combination of Bob playing well and Samsonov playing ass.

What the hell was that 1st and 2nd goal? If Murray wasn't injured, I'd consider him for Game 3 - but no way do I put Woll in.
Why not, other teams are having great success with their young mo name goalies.
Woll is steadier and has better renowned control. He tracks the puck better and doesn't flop and overplay pucks.
I would give him a shot, Sammy looks too fidgety.

this shouldn't be "new territory" for most of the players on the roster. This is copy + paste of the habs series. except, panthers aren't playing down 3-1 in teh series
I was thinking it was more like Columbus

There's a journalist named simmons?

What's most frustrating is that the Panther's have shown that they're quite beatable ... if the Leafs' decide to put the effort in ... Alas with this group it's not looking good.
Florida has been top 3 in the league since the deadline and with 5 straight wins over boston and toronto, they take sole lead as no.1.

Dubas built a mediocre team since the deadline. It is a fact. We were middle of the pack since the deadline and badly outplayed by Tampa. Florida steam rolled the league since the deadline and continue chugging along.

It's time to face facts. Being down 0-2 isn't because Leafs aren't showing up. Yes, that's some of it. But the majority of it is because this team is built flawed by it's GM. Garbage D. Slow or unskilled supporting cast. Questionable IQ overall.

*And I forgot having 11 mil tied up in a soft finesse player whose game only works in the regular season

Great memory! The Leafs just need a bounce or two to go our way and this is a series again. Hate all this doom and gloom B. S.
The Caps went from Grubaur to God like Holtby. Holtby won them the cup with a 10 bell stick save against Vegas and Wilson intimidated the Knights. We don't have two such players. Our guy who scores PP goals like their OV seems to have forgotten how to score on the PP which does not help.

Not really related to the game but have any of you ever felt guilty for wanting to do literally anything else besides watch hockey but you’re too emotionally invested not to?
Totally get it. I feel way too invested in the sport and it seems so often that I'm completely wasting my time. I have many other great passions and hobbies. The problem though, is that I can't look away.

Well, our Leafs are in a world of hurt now.

They have to win 4 of the next 5 games !!! Not impossible, but highly improbable with this group of players !!!

With the way the Panthers are playing, it looks like it may even be a sweep. All 3 fans of the Florida Panthers can now dust off the brooms and get them ready !!!

On paper our Leafs have the better team, on the ice the Panthers do !!! Simple as that !!!

Bye bye Shanahan, Dubas, and especially Keefe !!!

I was thinking it was more like Columbus

CBJ was defensively more structured and kept Leafs to the outside because they didn't wanna go into the dirty areas

Habs weren't more defensively sound, they stood up at blue line, forced dump-ins or turned puck over and attacked.

Look at the Game 7 1st goal Habs scored; direct result of marner turnover for no f***ing reason as an example

Perhaps but he's not wrong
We got goalied by Korpisalo, Price, Vasi and now Bob ?
Yeah, with what we are paying those guys one of two things have to be true. How we are built is fundamentally wrong, or they aren't capitalizing when they need to. I don't think there is a but to that sentance. Hopefully they can dominate in Florida and going forward, but we were past put up or shut up time a year or two ago.

Idk if anyone else is in a similar boat, but if they lose this series and blow up the core or whatever I’m probably “out”, or at least gonna take back seat and become a more casual fan.

During COVID I found a bunch of new hobbies and this season in particular I had to “force” myself to watch hockey games, and I’d sit there watching just really wishing I was playing video games, cooking, playing tennis, working on my car or whatever.

Not really related to the game but have any of you ever felt guilty for wanting to do literally anything else besides watch hockey but you’re too emotionally invested not to?

it's ok sometimes fandom waxes and wanes, especially when life gets busy with school / work / romantic partner etc.

don't feel guilty or force yourself.

the leafs ain't going nowhere. as a big fan the hunger will come back at some point.

I can understand I guess but I feel like you're being overly negative. Our goaltending can improve and other than a couple bottom pairing guys, our D has actually exceeded my expectations. Keep the faith!
