i had a rough evening and week so this loss doesn't even faze me.

**nsfw**tmi**

had sex on sunday and tore my foreskin. got it circumcised on tuesday, was put under general anesthesia. had to remove bandage today in shower during third period. goodness. painful and traumatic.

i think it's ok now though. but my goodness. what a f***ing week.
Maybe you overshared juuussssst a little....

They scored enough, but blew it. You could win with 2 goals if you play the game right. Leafs gave the game away. These are the playoffs, you can't rely on having to score 4 goals to win a game.

The second goal .. ok. But then to give Florida the lead a shift later.. from your top line, making a cute play at their own blue line?

That's pretty inexcusable. Marner had time and space to simply chip it out. But he throws it back to Matthews who can't handle it cleanly.

Signs were there in the first round that this team doesn't have it. Tampa looked like the better team despite missing Cernak, a seriously compromised Hedman, and Vasi not looking like himself. I tried convincing myself that maybe Tampa was just a lot better than people realized to stay positive.

tampa with crappy goaltending, without cernak and cap casualties in McDanaugh and Palat played 3 OTs in which Leafs won all of them thats some serious puck luck.

the coaching staff imo is a joke starting with keefe. this team would be a juggernaut with some retolling by a competent GM and a competent coach

JT not burying those chances was the least of the worries. I counted atleast half a dozen instances in the game where he just needlessly turns the puck over and kill all the offensive momentum.
He's normally turning the puck over - I don't think I've even seen anyone who can steal the puck and just toss it away seconds later like he can.

But he has usually been very good at burying chances when he is set up in close.

My biggest concern in this series would the Leafs losing easily .. they put up such a fight just to win a round, never going less than 6 games, and when they finally make it through they look like they could easily get swept in round 2 .....

It's frustrating.

We have players on the core who still hasn't learned and don't play the game right...still thinks it's exhibition or OHL playoff hockey. Many playoff wins and losses are by just 1 goal...giving freebees to the other team is a recipe for disaster. Still flabbergasted why Marner passed the puck back to Matthews at his blueline instead of just skating up the side...that's Justin Holl-like...maybe he didn't want to take a hit along the boards, soft!

Solid first period and decent third. When/if we learn to play a solid sixty minutes we’ll be a real contender.

I don’t blame Samsonov for being down 2-0. But I do think we should give Woll a look.

I don't think Matthews was expecting a pass because it was a stupid boneheaded play by Marner...Matthews didn't have much room to maneuver when he received it and tried to chip it out.

Next time cut your finger nails.

Well that sucked.
I’m an Uber heading home.

Best part of the night was half price Crown Royal and these two.

decisions have consequences. dubas' decisions in the past have present consequences -> we couldn't get a good goalie because we had no cap space. And the one we had he squandered it on murray.

hockey trade could have been made too for picks out dollars/cap hit in.

or UFA signing. Simple examples

1) Grubauer
2) Georgiev

am sure there were others. I'd have to look it up

like i said decisions/choices have consequences; the decisions made by shanahan have had consequences for all to see

Grubs was signed two years ago.. and he has been a sub .900 goal with Seattle asides from this little heater in the playoffs he's been on.

Georgiev's been equally as inconsistent and couldn't lead the former cup champs past a second year expansion team.

There was also Vanecek who has be brutal in the playoffs.. so was Fleury

The only other real argument is Kuemper but he was on a non playoff team this year..

Not excusing Sammy's play. He's been subpar these first two games in that he's given up an easy goal despite making some great saves. But he showed some strength in a few games in the first round, especially in game 6 against Tampa. That shouldn't buy him a lot of rope though to rebound.

what does playing a full 60 mean? the team that played 5 minutes tonight won...
