I think Florida is going to be very disappointed. When has Jones ever played meaningful hockey? Hey, maybe not. Maybe he excels. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.
I've said all along that Seth may excel when playing with a good team. Now we will see.

Glad he is gone though. Maybe it is the last step in getting rid of the Stan curse.

Will say there pro scouting department and pro acquisitions have been really good
they have been, if used correctly Jones could add to a defending cup team. that said, they should not expect to be getting a number one D, if they think that is what they are getting they will be disappointed...

you know, I may have to order a Knight knock off from China

Unprotected 1st is great. Never know in sports what will happen to a team one year to the next.

Great return. The $2.375m retention in years 4 and 5 might be annoying depending on advancement of the prospects, depending on cap.
aging Bob and Tkachuk with his style of play, the playoff games adding up, certainly an injury away in net and up front from that pick being late first to potentially mid round with upside for more

has Kane ever did that to a teammate before? shouting match with Toews yeah, but calling out a new teammate in his first game?
No idea. I'd say Kane was likely frustrated at that time with the direction of the team - especially considering the amount traded for Jones.

IIRC, Kane was on the half boards and on the PP. Made a routine dish back to where Jones was supposed to be and he wasn't there.

Nice bit of work. More concerned about tying up the last retention slot before the deadline than I am about retaining for five years

Happy for Jones that he gets his change of scenery. It was a rough fit here from the start and I won't miss him, but he didn't get what he signed up for here, so.. all the best to him

Nothing negative to say about trade

Dont have anything negative to say about Jones unlike some Hawk fans. Situation he signed up for was not a full rebuild, etc when Bowman got fired and plan he was sold on changed

With Commesso and Gajan development not going as planned Knight makes sense to pair with Soda and hope Hawks can find solution in net going forward

yeah for sure, the fact that it was game 1 of the season and Jones first with the team might say something about his impression in that room...

felt like since Seth Jones arrival and the handful of other vets and the removal of Toews and Kane they had more team meetings than the entirety of the cup years, go with a youth movement going forward imo

Well ziF Brisslit can never play again this was a proper fix for the bet.
If Brossout does cone back next seasonthey can trade hom for anotger first or a prospect in another position of need to a team seeking a goalie.

even if he could play its the right decision, Knight was the best goalie prospect in the game not too long ago and he's a complete freeroll in this deal, the real assets are the cap space and future 1st, Knight is just house money at this point, you have a last place team with a clear hole in net and an opportunity to give him a meaningful run as starter with zero pressure to see what he has, perfect situation for him and the team
