id be curious to know how many posts were hit by bawstun in each of the montreal wins.

it seemed to me like Montreal got INCREDIBLY lucky in that series.

they are a good team, but man, they sure got the benefit of a lot of iron.

I'm gonna say we need to win at least two in Montreal if we want to win this. I'm not overly confident going in this series, tbh. I could see why Habs fans would think they have their biggest step to the SCF taken already.
But you know, we just won 3 in a row against a team that has the two best offensive players of thewri generation, so what do I know.

History? It feels like yesterday we played them in the POs and won fairly easy. Still pissed about Sundström being robbed of that goal by the goal reff.

Honestly. I think you throw the first game out the window as it was part of our ****** start, though we were getting a bit better at the time. Last two games we completely dominated, including one game without FIVE, count them FIVE our best players, including our top D-pairing (both of them), our goalie, our best forward, and a guy that KILLED Montreal in the 1-0 win. FIVE players out and we made them our ***** in a game that was important to them and meant nothing to us. We lost in OT when Raphael Diaz made a stupid mistake. But the whole game was Price keeping them in it and Talbot facing no pressure. I don't expect the same game in this series, but this idea that Montreal is some invincible machine even though they finished 4 points ahead of us, with less adversity, is a joke. The Bruins get way too much respect. I feel like Montreal gets its respect because they match up well with Boston. The Bruins aren't the 76 Canadians, matching up well with them doesn't make you some sort of juggernaut. Sick of this ********, honestly. I really want us to take our momentum win this mother****er in 5.

13 total and I believe 8 of them came in losses. Habs hit I believe just 1 - and that came in a game 3 win.

Both of those things are awfully hard to do.

It's a little surprising that we won't need to get past the Bruins to get to the SCF, but I think I've figured out what's going on, and it's making me very optimistic.

This season was rigged by a screenwriter and we're the protagonist!

It's the classic plotline.

- The revitalization of the team with a new coach
- Failing miserably at the start of the season
- Hitting rock bottom.
- Finding your game, and scrambling to get to the playoffs
- Then with each playoff series, a subplot:
-> Flyers series, the Carcillo story and always failing to get the 2 game lead.
-> Pitt series, the personal struggles of MSL and the win from the 3-1 deficit

Now here is what I see coming:
-> ECF: Habs series: Hank gets injured in game two and NYR fall behind 2-0 in the series. Talbot steps in and we win 4 straight.
-> SCF: Hawks series: Hawks coach gets incapacitated due to illness during WCF. They quickly hire Torts (antagonist) to help them finish the season. NYR fall behind 3-0 in games, but fight their way back. Then, with 3 minutes left in game 7 Rick Nash scores his first 3 goals of the playoffs to turn a 2-0 lead into a 3-2 win.

It's almost too obvious...

Few guys the Rangers will have to look out for:

Pacorietty
Gionta
Subban
Prust

The Rangers need it impose their will from the start. I'm looking at you U Kreider.

Rangers fans really overrate Prust. It's like saying the Habs have to "look out for" Moore. Good role player, but really? Also if I'm worried about any role player it's Briere.

No one does. That said, it has been proven countless times that the regular season goes out the window once the playoffs arrive. Remember, we dominated the Devils in the 2012 RS.
I'd certrainly say the Habs have the advantage on offense as long as Nash doesn't show up. Plus, with Subban and Markov, they have two blueliners who really help them in that respect. Goaltending is a wash. I'd say we're the better team defensively by a slim margin. Our PP will need to click this series. I think Kreider wil play a big role this series. My other x-factor is Pouliot
I wouldn't call their D soft, but they're rather on the smaller side. Need to exploit guys like Weaver, and should he play, Boulllion. We have a considerable advantage on that 3rd pairing. Need to wear out Subban, Markov and Emelin - Kreider, Boyle, Dorsett and yes, Pouliot should be taking care of this.

Well, RS goes out the window, but I don't see why they're a juggernaut these playoffs either. The games I watched Boston took it to them and they won because of Price. They matchup well with Boston, doesn't mean that's true for every team. Also we certainly didn't dominate the Devils in the 2012 RS. We were 3-2-1 and they were 3-3, one point difference.

also, I meant the rookie Beaulieu, not Weaver. I don't know how he got in there. Guy is solid.

I think personnel-wise defensively (not counting offense from defense) we're pretty significantly better with Mac is back. But Montreal played some good defense this year and in the playoffs.

Call me crazy, but this is as great of a matchup as we could have asked for in the ECF....I don't think the Habs are anything special.

I like this, i like this alot! I honestly Think that the Habs overachieved this year. Dont get me wrong they are a good team but i Believe that the Rangers are the better team in all areas.

What we should be worried about is the zebras :help:

Hey at the start of this if you said rangers and Habs east final is say yes please . It's going to be tough but not Boston is the best scenario
