It would be nice to have a pipeline again of some good young D - Molendyk, Gibson and Clarke would make a nice three-headed defenseman monster. They shouldn't be, but Luc and Blake are idiots, so...

It does look a little like a Trotz move from a distance. Doughty missed a ton of time, is 35, comes back ... so they want to move their young d-man, who led the team in scoring from the backend I believe, to make room on the roster? At least they don't have to put him on the waiver wire and have that blow up in their face. They shouldn't be, but Luc and Blake are idiots, so...

Kings' prospect development has been very Predators-esque. He is a talented kid, but also definitely still has some holes in his game. It's also still just his first real season and they are still working Doughty back in. Even with the numbskulls in the Kings' FO I'd be surprised if there's much to this.It does look a little like a Trotz move from a distance. All of that is possible. It’s a first pairing and very good d man on the second pairing, which I’m a big proponent of.Please note this is an educated observation. From what I’m seeing in media and scaring circles Molendyk and Gibson might be the new Cedar Webber if you’re bringing Clark, he might be the Ekholm?
I don't know what LA's specific needs are, but I'm imagining it is going to be for more veteran assets as opposed to prospects or picks. Like if O'Reilly "waived" his unwritten NMC, or other guys would, etc. Since that seems to be their MO per their fans?I'd pretty much put everything but our first and maybe Molendyk on the table for Clarke.
Fire the coach. That’s first. If that doesn’t happen, then nothing else matters.
I think the bare minimum for me would just be to trade Nyquist and Schenn for "something". I'm not too picky about the return... it's more the simple fact of trading them at all would acknowledge something about our team status and what value those players really represent to us moving forward (i.e. "nil").What do you want bare minimum out of players in trade deadline?
We are here at a lot of smoke about Schenn and we have a hope that Nyqvist get something. But what are you looking for? What is the bare minimum of what would make you happy for each player in a trade. You want more but what would be the bare minimum that would make you satisfiedI
The only minimum is "something," defined as a draft pick of any kind or a prospect of any kind who's young. Holding on to any of our vets who don't have an NMC is a failure. We have hit rock bottom. Act accordingly. What do you want bare minimum out of players in trade deadline?

This is especially true of guys like Schenn who, IMO, are worse than replacement level. ROR is the only one that I'm in the camp of "only trade for a premium asset, otherwise keep". For Schenn, Lauzon (weird with injury), Sissons, Smith, Nyquist, and McC, they have to go if we have offers. I would love to have 3-5 roster players moved out in the next two weeks, with spots given to younger guys from MKE and/or reclamation projects. The only minimum is "something," defined as a draft pick of any kind or a prospect of any kind who's young.
