It has been speculated that NHL GMs are under orders to keep any of their wheeling and dealing under wraps during the break, so as not to distract from the silly tournament. So we may have to wait a couple weeks for any new news.

Kind of silly anyway. I don't understand how keeping hockey on peoples' minds is somehow a bad thing.

I suspect that sort of thing won't work in the modern world anyway. It's an old school mentality. But even if there are a lot of old school GMs still around, they still are going to tell players, and there is now a whole social media world that is going to run with things, so they may have figured out that there's really no way to control this kind of information release. Better to not bother. So I doubt any information embargo is really going to stand up in practice.
