The main sticking point seems to be the term. Boeser wants 7 or 8 years and the team wants five or six, this is according to Dhali

That would be a terrible deal for Vancouver. A big young C with a career high 33 points and a 33 year old winger well past his prime and signed for another season. Vancouver would be better trading him for a 2nd.
