I could accept a loss to MTL more easily than a loss to the Bruins. I caught a NYR-MTL game at Bell a few years ago and I was treated with far more respect than I got in Philly, NJ, and especially BOS. And the deeply passionate MTL fans have to be respected.

To a good series!

While obnoxious, Habs fans are incredibly polite from what I've come across.

I think McD is going to be fantastic in this series.

Really stick it to the team that gave up on him.

The only thing I hate about the Habs is that we have to play them at 1 on a Saturday. Probably going to miss the 3rd because of work. :whatever:

Teams are similar Hanks a better goalie ATM. Price had 14 posts in the last series. I hate the Habs fans so hope we shut them down

A lot of folks think the Habs are gonna role over us. I'm fine with that. I like being the under dog.

Anyone else worried about us going 7 in the first two series? It was one of the reasons we were so burnt out 2 years ago although our play style is obviously much different.

Not really, they're more rested than Montreal and AV is rolling all 4 lines and all 6 defenseman.

Tortarella wasn't rolling 4 lines evenly and Bickel was lucky if he saw a minute of ice time per game 2 years ago. That's why that team was burned out.

Things are different this time around. To me, Montreal is a slightly faster team and the Rangers have better goaltending. Otherwise, they're mirror images of each other.

Nash again is the x factor going forward. Without him contributing, the series no doubt goes 7. If he can get on a roll, I can see us winning in 5 or 6. Those few more days of rest can be crucial.

Agreed, 110%.

Bulletin board material. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned about the Bell. Having been there twice for sat night games, it's an incredible experience and i imagine a very intimidating place to play. Maybe a 1pm start helps dull the energy a bit? Prob not, but one can hope.

Also, while its a bit scary, lets not underestimate how excited Quebecers like MSL, Brass (even Pouliot, although i think hes from Ontario) should be for this. Could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for them.

I know I'm excited. LGR!

Don't forget Diaz as well. Hopefully he sniffs a game... Could use him for the pp

Also, don't forget that doubleheader 2 years ago. They pretty much played 8 games that series.

Lundqvist is the better goalie, but Price plays better vs. the Rangers than Lundqvist does vs. Montreal (especially in Montreal).

Yeah, I don't think the Rangers will be "rolled over". I don't know who will win (I think it'll be a close series), but I doubt this series goes less than 6.

Nash needs to step up, otherwise I don't know if the Rangers will win this series (although I said that the last series, so...).

NYR history vs. Montreal is not good. I used to cringe when they faced that team with Roy even at home. Even when they are bad they still beat the rangers more often than not.

Lundqvist isn't good in Montreal. There's some wacky French mojo up there that negatively affects this team.

This series is house money as far as I'm concerned. I thought we should beat philly, and i thought we could beat the pens, but the conf finals is where I thought the ride stopped and we all got off. We'll see. I just want someone to feed danny briere his teeth before it's over

Goodluck guys!! Looking forward to getting back to Hockey.. so much dirty stuff in that series and crying in the media

Can't wait for game 1, Always respected the rangers and the fans.

Goodluck and have fun guys!

I don't think they gave up on him, I think they thought he was just a necessary piece to get what they wanted.

I can say without hesitation that Habs fans hadn't given up on him though... and for good reason. Still cringe whenever I see him play for your blue, blanc et rouge ;)

Congratulations on the win vs the Penguins. was rooting for you guys and marty.
Now, I wish nothing but the worst luck for your team. Nothing personal ;)

Good. Time to exercise some demons in that building.

Should be a good series.

I had literally 0 faith in MTL making noise in the playoffs this year. I will admit, though not gladly, that I was way off. They're dangerous. Let's see what happens.
