The sky is not falling but if we want to make the playoffs moving forward is time for us to make the necessary changes.

The future is bright but adjustments are needed to advance and win the wildcard or be a playoff team next year.

So no, you're wrong.

Sens would have missed the playoffs three straight seasons if it wasn't for the 2015 run. They weren't rebuilding. NJ didn't have one top 5 pick from 2013-2016. Scorched earth rebuilds usually have multiple top 5 picks - Tampa in 2008-09, Toronto from 14-16, Ottawa in 18-20 (and they screwed that up a bit by trading their 1st in 2019).

Bruh. You're the one moving the goalposts. The Devils finished LAST in the eastern conference in 2017 when we went to the conference finals and drafted FIRST OVERALL (Hischier). They had a small burst when Taylor Hall literally dragged them to the playoffs in 2018, then fell back down to 2nd last in the conference in 2019.

They've been rebuilding longer than we have. Period.
