Actually the longer this process drags on the more I’m convinced that Sparks is going to end up with the team somehow

No. He has no track record of doing anything even remotely this big. He is not even the main guy. He's just the face.

Andlauer don't do rebounds
So is GSP playing a game of chicken with Andlauer? “You’re going to need another $100mil, Neko got the spice girls on board to up their bud.” “I call your bluff…. Wait, dammit, ok +$100mil.”

Or is the sale actually done, GSP just hasn’t notified all the bidders yet?

Regarding RR, why does everyone say missed opportunity for the NHL as if the NHL caused them to back away? His group was trying to circumvent the process and get an exclusive negotiating window. If he didn’t join the process to walk away at the last moment then maybe they shouldn’t have…?

I’m incredibly disappointed as well that he’s not part of this and he’s seemingly closed the door. But let’s stop pretending it wasn’t in their control either, he and Remington could have still submitted a bid

I'd say it's more the city and NCC here.

Considering how much headbutting has been going on with development since the Palladium was suggested waaaaaay back when, to now, I would want some concrete planning with the city and province and NCC before putting my cash on the table, too.

I have a bad feeling this is going to turn very nasty in a year or so when the new owner suddenly realizes they'll need at least another billion (or more) for an arena and entertainment complex because the bureaucrats think they have a cash cow in hand and want their palms greased.

Don't hold your breath for the team to move downtown.

if we are doing this. Sparks bid being used to force Andlauer's hand to let RR buy in for 25% of team.

I'm just saying if there's an actual good idea for a series, they can hire any celebrity or actor or director to run the series.

You do have a point that the new owner might not want it...but if it generates the owner lots of income, then they would probably sign off.
Oh for sure. If they have the motivation, the ideas, and the talent to pull it off, I don't really care who it is. RR was just someone with a track record and basically a guarantee it would happen, so it felt realistic as opposed to whoever the new owner is hopefully taking the idea and running with it, which I personally am not confident in. And then hopefully finding the right talent to make it good.

From someone that has spent a lifetime of consuming way too much media content with 1000's of movies and tv shows on my own server, I definitely don't see it as a slam dunk for just any celebrity/actor/director, but I do agree it doesn't HAVE to be RR with lots of other talented people out there.

The idea that he was so motivated was appealing imo. That won't be easy to find as we see with Sparks's group and all their silly celebrities basically just showing up and throwing hats in the ring with little sincerity.

They have a perfume company a real estate company sports concussion company another company that supplies home decore items and I would Imagine heavy stock investments in many things.
The myth that the Sens supported some fabulous lifestyle for the Melnyk clan is nonsense

As it was stated by a poster on Twitter, the Seattle Kraken is also owned by a consortium including businessmen, athletes, rapper, ect...:

According to Wiki:

The team is owned by Seattle Hockey Partners, an organization consisting of David Bonderman, Jerry Bruckheimer and Tod Leiweke.[63] Minority owners of the Kraken include Chris Ackerley, Ted Ackerley, Jay Deutsch, Mitch Garber, Adrian Hanauer, Andy Jassy, Marshawn Lynch, Macklemore,[64] Len Potter, Sam Slater,[65] David Wright, and Jeff Wright.

Latest news, is that with the newest addition to the Sparks group, they have virtually sealed the deal for the Senators

I believe that the UFC is owned by a consortium as well. Regardless, the team needs to be run by one strong/responsible/knowledgeable person, not by a head of snakes e.g. Dana White.

It's going to be so anticlimactic when it does get sold. I think the fun will be seeing who will be GM or Coach going forward.
Looks like that will take longer than the sale, since starting to look like Sens go with the status quo, getting late to make changes.

don't know about all of them, but it looks like Lynch and Macklemore were added towards the end of the first year with deals like this meaning around 1%. ownership. I can guarantee, the only decision you get to make with that is if you want it shaken or stirred.

The ceo notes, they didn't need the money, but wanted people with some local attachment. What they didn't appear to do, was to dribble out names after their bid was tendered and being reviewed by the NHL - that's the part that feels a bit lose in the Sens case.

Are the Dragons Den bunch in for real money? is this the result of the search for Canadian investors? If they are token investors, is the DD bunch enough to get you call excited?

5 year old article on Andlauer's work with the Hamilton Bulldogs, solid read.

I googled his name and saw he is only worth 1.2 billion. That is enough info/research for me to know i don’t want this pleb to own the team. Get this broke boy away from here

At this point i think the Neko Sparks group was just planted by GSP to artificially bump up the bids/price sale of the franchise  what a clown show

Andlauer's health care company was recently valued at $2.2 billion and his personal net worth is listed at $1.2 billion.

Wouldn’t net worth be higher, or what Am I missing. Does this include his Habs investment.
