Seems suspect that the same guys show up both times to inflate the price and don't even submit a bid no?The Bratty family (Remington) are “serious” bidders, it’s just that they pulled the same shit in 2012 when they pulled out last second from buying the Coyotes because they didn’t like the development deal, and it upset the league. There’s a reason why Gary was “caught off-guard” when Reynolds chose Remington.
Take off, eh?
Ya the Packers do it.Should be a Sens fan crowdsourced component in the Sparks bid, everyone else is getting a share it seems!
Ya the Packers do it.
99.9% of Sens fans aren’t Looking for an owner to spend to the max cap, 99.9% want an owner with integrity who employs intelligent people that integrate themselves into the community.
Your post above assumes the extremely wealthy are rational and good business people in everything they do - obviously Melnyck showed us none of those things are true. So impossible to say how a wealthy man with loads of money will react, maybe he’ll be impulsive and buy Twitter for quadruple it’s real value and then slowly be bled of billions until he has to sell the Ottawa Senators to Snoop Dog and Donovan Bailey.
Trade this guyWould be great! HFSens ownership consortium.
I want someone with the money to be able to afford ot run the team properly, and not to cut corners and skimp any way possible. Someone who won't panic if the Sens miss the playoffs and "lose money" for a few seasons. Someone who doesn't automatically hire the cheapest NHL head coach and cheapest GM he can find.
I don't want Eugene Jr.
Ya Gary likes everything quiet , with no noise.Have we passed the point where this bid needed some journalistic inquiry yet. Is that all for real or is Sparks just on a PR campaign?
Bids were due last week including any important partners and financial setup. they continue to add people in a very public way and now this "whoever the hells wants to dump a few bucks in, here's your chance"
For some billionaires owning a professional sports franchise is just a very expensive hobby:spin spin spin into an anti Melnyk rant.
my post assumes wealthy business men that acquire Franchise, are doing so, to turn a profit on each and every season, and strive to compete and win the Stanley up.
I once owned a share of the Winnipeg Jets. Lost it all when the team went bankrupt.Would be great! HFSens ownership consortium.
There is absolutely zero chance that type of conosrtium is getting the team. The only benefit for the league is that it’ll drive up the bidding price, but there’s no way the other bidders are dumb enough to think the Sparks group will win.
