Sarnia Sting 2024-25 Season Thread, Part III

Does seem like has finished his season. Must have been told he is gone because looked like he just wanted these remaining games over. Also looked like he got away from his matchups in second and had Di iorio against Mccue's line and just didn't seem to care, another sign Letang is checked out. Been saying Doucette and Filak are already gone to university with their effort levels and Doucette looking back last 8 has been fighting puck that's not his game(nothing to play for if looking to next already)
The big difference was how bad the Ds decisions ans giveaways were tonight kinda deflated the teams momentum from beginning with Barrs Pizza. Just constant bad decisions in own end. Flint was pressuring playoff hockey and we seems like we played shinny in own end. Moses was only player that went all the way in on forchecks all the way back on back checks while using his speed. He deserves a bump in line up to play with filak and Wainwright and demote Doucette. There needs to be reward for effort. Start with moses and then do it for hall/ karimov/everyone.and for christ sakes Get Fiacher off the PP get Barr on there why they brought him in.hoping for a pride battle after last nights game but 3 in 3 is going to be tough. Without franchesschetti Boulton /sim/fagan will run wild and take liberties with our young guys.
Did see a pretty explosive transition with Brown and wainwright but Brow making a move at blue line caused offside but thought man that would have been nice to see 2 guys transition together with Brown and Wainwright but Letang made sure that didn't happen. 1 last thing before Letang leaves he isn't going to coach to get this team to playoffs that's evident.

Letang must have been told just to finish the season, he’s completely checked out. Doesn’t care at all.

I think that's just Letangs coaching style.... stand there like a pylon unaware of whats happening.... I remember Sarnia LDN game 6 at home and we were down or 3-1 .. maybe 4-5 or so minutes left and the team is doing absolutely nothing ... he was just standing there and I yelled pull the goalie at the top of my lungs... he 100 percent hears me and glances at the clock almost looking surprised.. he says something to haley and then haley looks panicked... then they yell something to Ben ... then LDN scores to make it 4-1 ... it was honestly pathetic

Surzycia starts again makes no sense to me. Luecke back in Manza to L4 and Edwards to L1. And Moses and Doucette to L3.

So we win 2 straight with a set of lines & 1 bad game he throws it all into the blender without a practice!

Then he puts Edwards on the wing which went oh so well last time, but to make matters worse he puts him with Wainwright!!! Which didn't work AT ALL!

Manza is the flavour of the week for a rookie to be banished to the 4th line!

Surzycia somehow is getting his 3rd start in 3 days.

Been saying it for 2 years now finally others agree, he isn't an ohl level Head coach doesn't have any idea what lines work and how to generate offense..
Wainwright brown been saying that since they played 3rd line last year together was a dynamic line.. just never had it this year and both did alot without help.
Season is Nearly over, thank God, but this should have been Maillet's game.
Why after last night put your starter in to take back to back games like this.

Does Letang put them in a hat and draw them on bus ride home after a game? Edward's /wainwright don't work, hey I have an Idea let's put Edward's on wing today against the best team in League and move him to 1st line and play him with Filak and Wainwright might work this time. Does Letang watch video and things when lines are made? LETANG'S career is dwindling down bigtime. Can't wait for it to be announced fans deserve alot better.

Zero pride from this team and it's a reflection of the awful coach ..... but hey at least the Hunters like him... at this point I don't even care about contracts or how it looks... fire Letang immediately after this game.. guys a joke and is doing more harm than good.

If DS and Legeand cared about this group at all would have been let go with jefferies in Feb. It's clear Legwand doesn't care at all just keep getting over 4000. Fans. Next year looks bleak as well at this point, Very sad

Legwand has his focus on the OHL cup .... Seca is focused on looking cool walking around during the intermission and Letang is focused on the coaching staffs matching yellow ties if they make playoffs.... Buzz are run by a bunch of hopeless bozos.

Frankly if Letang & his staff aren't fired I think I am done.

I hate to say I want someone fired, but it has to be done after the season ends.

Sarnia as they always do have become an embarrassment again.

I've said it before. maybe this team actually sucks. its terrible. I overrate all of our players.

But they shouldn't be THIS bad as a team. The other bottom feeders are at least playing hard, cohesive & have an identity. Sarnia has quit on more games than they've played hard in since FEB 1st.

They are completely lost for the 2nd time this season. They look hopeless for the 2nd time this season. This time its with Fischer & Young healthy.

The coach seemingly presses ALL the wrong buttons for this team & they don't answer to whatever he says. Whatever they practice doesn't show.

He has them playing a style that doesn't fit the roster. He overplays the wrong players. Holds none of them accountable. Makes 0 adjustments. Shows no emotion, energy, urgency on the bench or in the media.

What I watched today was a disgrace. LDN was always gonna win but this team quit before the puck was even dropped. Letang again didn't use a TO. Left Nick in for 6 quick goals. Shameful.

Should've been done in December. Better be done after the season.

I come in peace. Watching today's game I came away with this. Although, I agree that Letang is not a good coach, in all fairness, he's playing with the hand he was dealt by your ownership. Poor drafting and trades. Inconsistent goaltending. Not many top forwards on this team. Mostly young, inexperienced 3rd or 4th line players (on most other teams). I feel for you but you just can't put lipstick on a pig.

Surely you watched when LDN beat us with relative ease in 6 games when ownership gave him the best roster on paper in the O... This is more than just a this year thing with Letang. Before those trades we were a pretty bad team then too. I will say people have not been happy with management either. But saying that I've been happy with our last 2-3 drafts. You have to have been here and watched the last 4 years to get context.

idk about poor drafting/trades. Sure there's been some miscues like everyone (except LDN) but Its a rebuild so it was expected to be 2 iffy/bad years in a row. The issue is stuff related to coaching.

In game adjustments.
Lineup decisions.
Timeout/pulling the goalie usages.
Starting which goalie vs which team issues.
Starting the game on time & Late game issues.
favouritism to older players who aren't that great & a negative bias against certain guys.
not playing the young guys enough.
a significant lack of urgency & accountability.
not chasing matchups with Fischer/Young.
Not putting a system in place that best fits the roster.

Probably forgetting other things, but yah. Team isn't that good we know. Outside Dale & Ahokas im sure they'd be in a similar seeding, but I and many others feel Letang has hurt this team badly this season with all those things I listed.

Add in losing with a better roster 2 years ago + an embarrassing showing as HC with Canada & it doesn't seem to matter what roster he has they underperform/disappoint.

I get you guys are frustrated. Trust me being an Owen Sound fan I know how you guys feel. It’s an unfair league and teams like us and the sting suffer, the more teams help out the knights and trade them players because they only want to play there the more the suffering will continue.. either play for the team who drafted you or make them sit.. stop always trading them to London. Teams need to grow some grapefruits and let them sit. Every year it’s always London.. and it’s god damn annoying.
