US outplayed Canada outside of the first period. If Canada plays like that against Finland it will be another 4-0 loss.

Agreed. Heck of an effort by the US.
If they had a Kane or Gaudreau they probably would have won this game. I don't think Canada has much of a chance against Finland but I guess we'll see

Wow ...Didn't know what a great player Hanifin is!...Last 2 periods US was the better team...Glad we won...BUT Gesh

McDavid is 2nd in assists at this tournament and gets **** on

O Canada.

since I am actually Spanish, grew up in DE and never rooted for any German national team, and picked the US, back 25 years ago when I played peewee in Frankfurt with some New England kids on my team, I must say - pretty proud of group. Man they really gave it all, and partially had it all, to compete ..

..us hockey will not look the same anymore in 5 years time. they are finally making it up there to the top, when a D team can compete at this level.

impressive. congrats

That's what American hockey fans have been saying for the last two decades. Yet, you still have no Gold Medal during that time. It's also not hard to be amazing among a sport with only 8 nations that can compete.
Good job though, today.

Reilly and Tanev are really solid.

They were the only pair that wasn't a minus against Finland, and they were so solid again tonight.

Hands down the top pairing.

:handclap::handclap::handclap:

Agreed.

But I must say though as a Leaf fan.... the unsung hero of the game was Ryan Murray. Big minutes with various partners, some key blocks on the PK.

Murray looked every bit the guy who went 2nd overall in 2012

Pretty shameful display by Canada, looked like they sleepwalked for almost the full second and third periods. On the other hand, very great effort by USA. Outplayed Canada in the game and deserved the win from what I saw. I hope that they can win bronze, and I look forward to whichever year sees USA win this tournament with a D level team.

So TSN picked the top players I guess haha hilarious stuff. Where is Brassard, Scheifele or Stone... Easily the three best forwards.

The problem is some teams look or the gold medal game or bust. Sometimes the bronze game is a total bust because one team has stopped caring.

When Ceci was with Murray they were the top pair, played the most best plus minus, corsi, scoring etc. Hockey canada wanted Ellis up there i guess. Politics over success unless its best on best par for the course team canada.
