Always cracks me up that there’s a Sebastien Aho in the AHL (Bridgeport). Poor guy. ‘No, I’m the other Sebastien Aho...’
except neither of them is Sebastien..

I believe Aho should be in the conversation. However, the front runner right now is Patty Kane. If he manages to carry Chicago to the playoffs, he is my #1 candidate. As far as Kucherov goes, Tampa's real MVP is Vasilevskliy. He changes the entire dynamic of the games. It's hard to be in Heart conversation when you are may not be the most valuable player on your team. I would have Kuch as the frontrunner for the Lindsay.
Aho probably wasn't even on most teams list in the second round. I remember CAR taking some flack for reaching with that pick, and hearing comments after the pick, like "Who?". Thank you, Joni!
In theory, you are 100% correct. In reality, their MVP is Vasi. The confidence they have on the rush, not worrying about mistakes, that all stems from the Big Cat in goal. When your team is +70 in the goal department and easily leading the league in offense, your MVP is not your goalie.
ITA. And Kane isn't doing it with any spectacular support either. The most underrated super-star in hockey.Difference is, Kane is competing for the Art too, Aho is not.
Have you looked at how the guys he plays with were playing before he became the stud that he is? Kucherov's got an 18 point lead on everyone else on his team and practically resurrected Stamkos. The Hart convo begins and ends with him at this point. If someone overtakes him, that might change, but right now it's easily a one man race for the Hart.
Hall won it with exact same qualifications as the ones Aho has, assuming that the Canes make the playoffs. If they dont then thats it.Because he's nowhere near the best players in the league, and not the only mvp on the block.

No it is not. This is point pretty easily.
Some may have, but I clearly remember a lot of people saying we reached with the pick.I think he was though. I realize it's hindsight, but Babcock came out later and said they considered taking Aho there. At the draft, it was reported that NJ really wanted Aho and when the Canes selected him, they then traded out of their pick. A few NJ fans scoffed at that notion at the time, but I believed it.
If you are referring to Laine and Puljujärvi they were drafted in 2016 while Aho and Rantanen were drafted in 2015.Aho is definitely overshadowing the other Finns from his draft year this year. Good on him I say, always liked his play style and determination.
I think Aho's skillset of skating and puck control are awesome but he always seems to be in the right spot offensively and defensively which attest to his high hockey IQ. It'll be interesting how much his offensive stats will be boosted once he has an offensively skilled center to play with.
Otherwise facts, but he is a center.I think Aho's skillset of skating and puck control are awesome but he always seems to be in the right spot offensively and defensively which attest to his high hockey IQ.
