I honestly don't even think wanting to get the block team on was that bad of a decision (and I mentioned earlier why subbing the FG team in earlier is a dangerous decision) - it's a short field goal by NFL standards and you probably feel you need to put some pressure on the kick to at least affect it to have a chance.

But someone clearly didn't get the memo that they were subbing amid the chaos.

The article mentions that the Bills do have slightly more success blocking kicks than the average team, so if you think you’ve got the swap down pat, it makes sense to try

We will see what happens Sunday but I don't think it will be a like a light switch going from Dorsey to Brady. Things may improve but it may also take until after the bye week that there is a noticeable difference. Fingers crossed it works out.

I mean you can't just overhaul the schemes in a week. But Brady could add onto the current system and just ditch the play calls that weren't working. Especially those read-options to Davis.

I really think the Bye week is when you might see Brady's full scheme implemented.

This offense went to poop once we took out fullback as a WR running a go route plays. We need that back. Fixes the offense. We win the Super Bowl. Brady coaches the Giants next year.

There's a reason that they are investing in railways in the Northeast. The Carolina>Buffalo>NJ Giants train demands it!

I think one of the biggest complaints was the predictability. So simply by mixing up the calls, Brady could improve matters.

Here's the roster pos-nuke for 2024:

WR: Shakir
TE: Kincaid
LT: Dawkins
LG: McGovern (or someone else if he's cut)
C: Bates, Anderson
RG: Torrence
RT: Brown, Van Demark
TE: Knox
WR: Shorter
QB: Allen
RB: Cook, Gilliam

LE: Rousseau
DT: Oliver
NT:
RE: Miller, Jonathan
LB: Milano, Williams
LB: Bernard, Spector
NB: Johnson, Neal
CB: Douglas
CB: Bernard, Elam
S:
S:

About $12M in roster space with 53 spots open. Not ideal but Beane will need to tinker and make it work. If he re-structures Miller and Bass he can open that number to $26M.

Now a reload draft (going off PFF current rankings):
1st: Amarius Mims, OT Georgia. Takes over for Dawkins after the season is over.
2nd: Brendan Rice, WR USC. Gets tons of time as a rookie.
3rd: Nazir Stackhouse, DT, Georgia. Gets tons of time as a rookie.
4th: Blake Fisher, OT Notre Dame
5th: Moose Muhammed WR Texas A&M
5th: Tyleik Williams, DT Ohio State
6th: Lathon Ransom, S Ohio State
6th: Malachi Moore, S Alabama
6th: Bryce Foster, C Texas A&M
7th: Jalin Conyers, TE Arizona State (had to shift to PFN since PFF only went to 200)

New depth chart:
WR: Shakir, Rice
TE: Kincaid
LT: Dawkins, Mims
LG: McGovern
C: Bates, Foster
RG: Torrence, Anderson
RT: Brown, Van Demark, Fisher
TE: Knox, Conyers
WR: Shorter, Muhammad
QB: Allen
RB: Cook, Gilliam

LE: Rousseau
DT: Oliver
NT: Stackhouse, Williams
RE: Miller, Jonathan
LB: Milano, Williams
LB: Bernard, Spector
NB: Johnson, Neal
CB: Douglas
CB: Bernard, Elam
S: Ranson
S: Moore

That's 37 of the 50 positions players needed, minus the 3 special teamers. Res-structure Miller, and you get cap space to fill the remaining roster.

1 year hard reset. Rebuild the offensive line and DT. Add some young, bigger receivers. Center the offense on Kincaid.

I'm here for it entirely!

It takes way longer to fully implement a new scheme than even a bye week would allow. Especially given all the time off that the CBA gives guys over a bye week.

To fully implement a new scheme would take a full offseason.

It will be more about changes in play calling and minor tweaks to the plays in the playbook today.

I won't be shocked if McD is back with a new slate of DC, OC, and STC for '24.

I'm good if Diggs stays. I just don't know how this is going to go. Beane needs to think through options.

I'm hoping the Commanders tank and McDermott can convince Rivera to come coach the D and Bienemy to come coach the offense.

I wonder if any pair of coaches have ever swapped HC/DC roles during their lifetimes. (McDermott was Rivera's DC from 2011-2016)

The full quote from Diggs is it was really unfortunate that this is how it ended for Dorsey but that’s the way the cookie crumbles sometimes in this business, but that he has a ton of respect for Dorsey. Funny that the reporter leaves all that out and just frames it as a flippant remark.

No biggie, but silly.

Awesome. Now I get to hear all about how Burrow's injuries affected his season. Like he's the only player that's ever had to play through an injury.

I’m currently making no effort to watch any of this game on Sunday, for the first time in 5 years. It’s fair to say I have a lot of shit going on, so it’d be hard anyway, but if I’m honest, going back even a month, I figure out a way.

With all the talk about Allen possibly getting injured due to his play style, I'd be much more concerned with Burrows' health. That dude seems to be going through something every year. I'm pretty sure Allen has the longest streak of games played of any QB currently playing.

I know the Stef drama will never end. But, it should. He's full invested and has said he wants to retire a Bill. I'll take him at his word.

Harbaugh has been suspended for 6 Michigan games this season.

Yes, they are undefeated this season.

Yes, Michigan is his alma mater.

But, you wonder when all the issues with breaking NCAA rules creates a situation where he looks to jumping back to the NFL...
