I see Purdy as an effective cog within their offensive scheme. Similar to what Garoppolo was for them. Their scheme which doesn't require the QB to be a physical freak, have a huge arm or to be a huge threat with his legs. A good, quick decision maker who can take advantage of the best offensive coach in the game, utilising some of the league's most dynamic skill players. What do you see Purdy as?
I think that 49ers team thrives on undisciplined defenses. They take advantage of teams that fall for their motion and decoys. Teams like the Bills, Chiefs, Eagles, etc. don’t fall for that stuff and routinely beat those types of teams.
System QBs need the system to work flawlessly. When it doesn’t, you get Tuas performance against the bills a few weeks ago.
I don't think it's anywhere near as cut & dried as you're making out. All QBs have bad games, all teams have bad games. We've seen it with the Bills often enough. On another day, Miami could have won that game.
I wouldn't go as far as calling the SB completely luck based since the cream often rises to the top. But at the same time, games aren't played in a mathematical simulation.
