What do you see Purdy as?

I think that 49ers team thrives on undisciplined defenses. They take advantage of teams that fall for their motion and decoys. Teams like the Bills, Chiefs, Eagles, etc. don’t fall for that stuff and routinely beat those types of teams.

System QBs need the system to work flawlessly. When it doesn’t, you get Tuas performance against the bills a few weeks ago.
I see Purdy as an effective cog within their offensive scheme. Similar to what Garoppolo was for them. Their scheme which doesn't require the QB to be a physical freak, have a huge arm or to be a huge threat with his legs. A good, quick decision maker who can take advantage of the best offensive coach in the game, utilising some of the league's most dynamic skill players.

I don't think it's anywhere near as cut & dried as you're making out. All QBs have bad games, all teams have bad games. We've seen it with the Bills often enough. On another day, Miami could have won that game.

I wouldn't go as far as calling the SB completely luck based since the cream often rises to the top. But at the same time, games aren't played in a mathematical simulation.

I've said this for forever - but Tre might well be the most obvious cut/trade candidate on the roster WITHOUT signing another elite, highly paid CB. EG if they want to resign/replace the likes of Davis, Epenesa, Daquan Jones, Hyde, etc.

As @Waterfowlist alluded to just above - when will everyone understand that elite corners just aren't as necessary within this scheme compared with most other teams' schemes?
Elite corners may not be as necessary but if you can acquire one, you absolutely need to look into it. If you can have a corner that shuts down one side of the field it makes it immensely easier for the defense to focus and allocate on the other 2/3 of the field. Elite corners also rarely are made available for trade during or before they enter their prime. The biggest question would be cost, which I would pay a hefty sum for Surtain.

Yeah... But there's this thing called the salary cap. It's not like Madden where you can switch it off.

You can't go out & get the very best players available at every single position. So it's better to focus on getting the best players you possibly can at the positions which matter. Which for the Bills... isn't corner.

Before you say it again - yes i know that Surtain is still on his rookie deal. But he only has 1.5 years of that deal left. Because he was such a high pick his cap hit for '24 is 6.7m/year which isn't nothing , and I'd expect he'd demand a massive extension the following offseason, which we likely couldn't give him even if we wanted to.

Then there's the draft picks - having production/contribution from your R1 picks is absolutely crucial for perennial contenders to remain as such... But you want to give two of those picks away? The Bills aren't the Sabres!

Sorry - but it's an absolutely terrible proposal.

“There’s a lot of All-Pro offensive coordinators out there watching games, a lot of quarterbacks in the stands who think they know what they’re doing,” he mused with some sarcasm.

He also stated how much of the criticism of Dorsey he believes is misplaced.

“All of it,” Allen added.

“I trust him implicitly. If you look at the statistics over the last couple of years, of how much we’ve scored and how efficient we’ve been as an offense, we’re at the top or near the top in almost every statistical category. Just because we’ve hit a lull right now doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the end of the world. We’re working through some things and this adversity is going to help us moving forward to get our answers quicker.”

Holy f***ing shit!! No way we can make it work but thats the perfect move if so
There is a 0.0000001% chance this actually happens.

They just put the Bills near the top of the list because Bills Mafia will drive clicks and views and bets.

Do the Raiders want $23.55M in 2024 dead cap space to trade him for peanuts?

I doubt it.

No interest at all in Henry. He's almost washed. Latavius can do 90% of what he'd do here.

Adams is too pricey in assets and dollars. Give me Adam Thielen. He's producing like a superstar this year, can play multiple roles in an offense, and comes at a fraction of the cost.

If Vegas is selling, if they're willing to retain money on Renfrow -- I wonder if he has anything left in the tank, or if injuries have really hurt him?

At the very least he's out of form, at worst he lost it.

Thielen is on pace for a season of 139 catches, 1,442 yards, 11 TDs - with Bryce Young. 33 years old, 6'2 195, and his contract is very reasonable. I know he was mentioned in the off-season, but I'm borderline obsessed with the idea now.

He's been pretty unplayable. I think he's toast.

I can't see any chance the Panthers trade away their rookie franchise QBs favorite target. It would be borderline qb development malpractice.

His current cap hit is 25 million for 2024, so it would essentially be a wash.

44 Million cap hit in 2025/26? Holy moly Joey! Even if you signing bonus/restrcuture/spread that shit out, it's still a massive cap hit.
Not quite. The Bills would be inheriting the 2024 base salary ($35.6 million) and the roster and workout bonuses (.6 million), none of which are guaranteed. I'm not sure if the restructure bonus has already been paid by the Raiders or would go to the Bills, but I assume it's guaranteed. Either way, the trade should be looked at as a one-year rental with him basically a FA (unless they resign him to a different deal) after this season.

Eh I hear you, but it would probably guarantee them winning 1st overall and either taking Caleb Williams and moving on from Young, or having the most valuable league trade chip in a couple years. They can find a new Thielen in the off-season, not sure 8 games without him would ruin Young.

If that's the case. Screw Hunter Renfrow. get Adams and go get yourself a Lombardi.

I'm still making the deal if one of the firsts is conditional
