If we retain 50%, does RyJo not have value at 2 mill per ?
Wouldn't a floor team value that contract ?
Ah shit ya I was thinking of that backwards lolI think that would be terrible for a floor team because they're paying him more than his cap hit; they usually seek the opposite, high cap hits for lower salary
Not going to respond to everyone who quoted me, but “I’ll be okay with re-signing Seeler if we trade Walker and acquire a 1st” was by far the consensus take on here.
Well, they did that. We’re hyperventilating on the margins. Getting RyJo instead of Ceci. Giving Seeler an extra year to keep AAV below $3m. Adding a late round pick.
The vision is exactly the one that people said they’d be okay with. Just get a grip.
Because the margins, how they got that first, what year the first is, and other things matter. Not going to respond to everyone who quoted me, but “I’ll be okay with re-signing Seeler if we trade Walker and acquire a 1st” was by far the consensus take on here.

Nashville traded him to Colorado for 50% retained. Why is Johansson’s salary hit listed as 4m a year on cap geek?
Because Nashville is retaining half his cap hit.Why is Johansson’s salary hit listed as 4m a year on cap geek?

Uh oh, positive Beef is back in hibernation.Sure as shit wasn't my take. I want both traded along with more. Just because some number of people have said a thing, doesn't make that the One True Dogma we must all adhere to.
I think the only people who need to "Get a grip" are the ones who feel the need to come whine and moan about invented grievances regarding what people may or may not post. It's ridiculous. I don't know if it makes you feel superior somehow, but it shouldn't. It's silly.
Yes it’s on the internet. Believe everything on the internetIs there any credible Chychrun rumors ?

Yeah I don’t abide by that metric or logical thinking. We’re talking at least 20+ draft positions between a hypothetical 2024 2 and a 2025 1, as long as the Avs stay goodThe general rule of thumb - a pick gets discounted one round for every year in the future it is.
i.e. a 2025 2nd round pick = 2024 3rd round pick. There's a bit more nuance to it but that's the baseline.
So if you think Walker's fair market value was a 2025 2nd round pick by himself, that's pretty much the equivalent to a 3rd round pick this year. I think he's worth more than that which is why I don't think they got enough back for taking on the RyJo contract.
Some people on here need to devalue their take. Many feel the need to constantly whine, moan and air grievances. I kind of wish we kept Johansen. Not that he is a good player anymore or anything like that but with an expiring contract next year if he bounced back maybe they could have flipped him, even if just to get back the 5th rounder or something? Maybe he will report to the AHL and still be an option next year or was this with the intent of buying him our or terminating the contract in some way?
Getting the player in your system a year earlier and closer to the NHL should have more value for a team that thinks they are contending in two years.
It's also a year later and less liquid.Yeah I don’t abide by that metric or logical thinking. We’re talking at least 20+ draft positions between a hypothetical 2024 2 and a 2025 1, as long as the Avs stay good
