We also have Heineman who looks NHL ready & should be given a chance on 4th line.
While I agree with this, at some point it becomes about asset management.

1) There will be injuries, so he'll get his shot even if he doesn't start in the NHL right away.
2) More AHL time won't hurt him imo.
3) I'd rather see Heineman over Gallagher, Hoffman, and Armia. But Hughes, for some reason I can't comprehend, may be reluctant to send vets to Laval in favor of a young player that is waiver exempt. I mean I couldn't figure out playing Drouin, Dadonov, and Hoffman over Ylonen and RHP last year...

This is all true, but Dach changed over the course of the season. He started out at C and was pretty meh. Then he was moved to the wing with Nick and Cole and took off production and confidence wise. Then he went back to C and was a great C, even outplaying Suzuki on many nights.

Imo, Dach has emerged as a C. Suzuki-Dach-Monahan give us 3 good two way C's ensuring our young wingers get to play with a good offensie C. It's a great scenario imo.
Yes Dach played very well some nights but the problem was a lack of talent with him. He needs to play with talent as do Nick and Cole. Which is why I preface it with until we fill out the top 6. We are not yet deep enough talent wise to try and spread it out IMO and that is also very obvious with our PP. Play our 5 best and let the second wave be players who have earned the icetime in the game.

Caufield - Suzuki - Dvo
Slaf - Dach - PLD
RHP - Monahan - Anderson
Gallagher - Evan's- Ylonen
Dvorak will turn 28 this year. He has 7 seasons under his belt. He has never scored 20 goals or produced 40 pts in a single season.

Even if he has the occasional hot streak, he doesn’t belong on a top line. RHP should more promise.

Dvorak with Monahan and Anderson could actually be a decent 3rd line. Mo and Anderson would drive the line though.

I hope Slaf can adjust and play on the 2nd from the start but I think he needs to be shuffled between the AHL and the NHL for a while, untill the game slows down for him.

If we get Dubois, the forward group is looking quite good

Caufield - Suzuki - Dubois
Slafkovsky - Dach - RHP
Farrell/Heineman - Monahan - Anderson
Ylonen - Evans - Gallagher
Armia, Hoffman

I would love it if Caufield - Suzuki - RHP would work. But I'm not sure they have enough size 5 on 5...

Dvo actually had his best points per game season with us his first year. He put up 33 points in 56 games. That's a 48 points per 82 game pace. How many points could he put up playing with Suzuki and Cole? I don't think it's a reach to think he could produce at more than a 48 point pace playing with those 2. What would his trade value be if he did produce at a 50+ points pace?

How did you manage to make Gallagher disappear?

Even if he's in Farrell's spot I think it's a good group.

Dvo has no value now. I think he could get his production up playing with offensive players on the wing, and then we trade him.
NTC kicking in july 1st, i would trade him no matter what the return is. The fit wasnt good with the Habs, lets move on

Pleasantly surprised to see this, I figured Monahan would get something like ~3M + performance bonuses from a contender with how soft this year's UFA class is.

Cautiously optimistic that he might be reasonably healthy this year too given that his injury last year was an entirely new thing and had nothing to do with his prior wrist/hip/groin issues.

I think it makes perfect sense to get his production up and then trade him...

You are almost certainly right that Gallagher won't start on the 4th line. But hopefully he gets outplayed by the young guys and ends up there - before he gets injured and then we don't have to worry about him taking up a spot in the top 9 anyways.
Dvorak has been in the league for years GMs know what he his playing him on our top line for a short period to boost he stats wont change nothing aside from him taking the spot from someone who deserves it more

I dont believe the HF fans who swears hes a cap dump but hes not worth much i would take a 2nd/3rd and move on

It's fine if we take a 2nd or 3rd and move on.

But Dvo scored at a 48 points per 82 games pace with us his 1st year. How many could he put up playing with Suzuki and Cole?

Do we really have more deserving players to play with Cole and Nick? It seems we kept cycling through players and never found anyone, except for Dach and Monahan. But they'll be great as 2c and 3c. I'd much rather see Dvo than Hoffman, Pitlick, even Anderson isn't a good fit there, imo.
