Wouldn't surprise me if the knee injury from last years playoffs ended up resparking.
He has really struggled this year. Wouldn’t be a surprise if he has been playing hurt for a while.

Stats wise, Kessel has certainly slowed down. Since 11/19, he has 1 point in 15 games and a -7. Judging by some of the tweets with the lines/pairings, he might be playing on his off-side at times, but he probably needs a full season down there before he gets a look.
Tucker has 6 points in his last 8 and a +1. I think Tucker and Kessel were paired together early in the year, and have been apart more recently. So, it's possible that Tucker was the main driver on that pairing.

Kyrou is skating, not on the lines, but with the PP unit. So, I suppose he could play, but he's at least close.

Krug never fully recovering from last years injury would make a lot of sense. I don't care how much anyone hates him but you know damn well he's better than what he's shown this year.

It's probably wishful thinking. He 100% could have been dealing with lingering effects, but this injury is probably from the Vegas game. The issue with Krug and to an extent Faulk is the lack of consistency year to year. Krug's first season wasn't bad, but underwhelming because we didn't deploy him correctly. Last season he over-performed to incredible degrees, highlighted by a PDO of 106. And this season has been the exact opposite with a PDO of 96, and just being a dumpster fire.
Berube said they where doing great but way to early to even start looking at a time line for their return.

Krug has been doing all he can to help us with the tank by playing. Him being out actively hurts our tank.
