Hopefully the Panthers come in with the same low effort.

Are you Oliver Ekman-Larsson?Impossible to beat me at low effort

Oilers skate teams into the ground. It’s happened in every series. That being said Florida is a different beast. This will be a wild game.Everybody's throwing it onto Bob's shoulders, but it's really the Panthers' backcheck that's lost steam. Games 2 and 3 their skaters were relentless with almost perfect coverage. Oilers could barely get a clean shot that wasn't blocked by a body or deflected by a stick. Last two games the Panthers have been slower and have allowed plenty of holes for Edmonton to pounce on.
If it's a result of physical fatigue, Edmonton wins. Both teams are tired, but Oilers are naturally faster and haven't slowed down yet. If they have the same space to set up they'll bury a few, no matter how good Bobrovsky is. On the other hand, if Panthers had a mental letdown, this would be the game they recover their mojo.
It’s harder to backcheck when the ice is stretched. The Oilers are exposing the hard forecheck with good long outlets. Florida fwds are having to skate farther than in previous games to get the back check on.Everybody's throwing it onto Bob's shoulders, but it's really the Panthers' backcheck that's lost steam. One of the very best contact in the nhl.I looked it up this morning.. RNH is a big part of our PK. He's also a big part of our PP.
I have a bias for RNH and am a keepnugeforever kind of guy but he is making huge impacts in this series despite the lousy 5 on 5 metrics and lack of points.
Obviously, I'd like more points and a dominant moment but, nonetheless, he is doing our special teams some good and is a big part of our success.
Yeesh. You picked the one guy universally lauded for success based on effort over skill. He was pushing 40 in that, his final season, and probably took more abuse throughout his career which spanned the peak of the cross-checking coke machine era.I'm 2013-2014 Ryan Smyth

I think Broberg being paired with Nurse. Honestly, the kid is playing the way I expected Bouchard to showHere are my observations.
1 - They seem to have found the passing lanes in the forecheck
2 - Changed the way they react to the forecheck. They are relying on the D more, maybe Nurse being back is helping. He does bring some size and physical play.
3 - Bouchard is not being asked to go up ice as quick.
4 - FLA is not playing the same type of tight forecheck they did early on. They are going for big initial hits and missing a lot. This seems to be letting the 1st player get that first pass off and not be trapped on the boards
5 - I don't know if it is a physical thing on the FLA D or a physical mismatch on EDM side, but they seem to be abusing the right side up the Boards. That outlet pass is getting beyond the red line and finding EDM player breaking. Happened more than once in last 2 games.
That is what it LOOKS like to me, I may be dead-ass wrong! But, it is the Stanley Cup finals, what life do I have besides talk this shit.
Low blow. No respect for you in the handshake line.I'm 2013-2014 Ryan Smyth
Isn't Bouchard supposed to be more of an offensive D-man? I never expected Bouchard to be a shut down D-man, at least from boxscores. I really didn't get a chance to see much EDM. Living in FLA I get to see and hear TOO MUCH FLA...I think Broberg being paired with Nurse. Honestly, the kid is playing the way I expected Bouchard to show
Uhhh...what? My point is that a broken body ≠ low-effort.Yeah so you just kinda proved my point LOL thanks -
His style of play (and reputation) and drawing into this one...it isn't just a narrative. It is a concern
He the only reason Florida went 3-0. And quite honestly the only player that scare me comming into game 6Very short leash for Bob tonight. If he gives up an early softy we're likely to see Stolarz for the rest of this series.

If OEL's controller disconnect in a Stanley Cup Final elimination game can be chalked up having nothing left to give, then sure, you got me.
