Ugh.

Not only the slush, but look at that right leg. It moved in about the only way possible to not hit that puck. Is that Kopitar's stick along Lundqvist's pads after the puck is on the line? Funny how it looks like his stick is helping to pull Lundqvist's leg forward a bit. So close.

A home game to win the Cup. Can't ask for more. Go and win it.

The Kings deserved to lose (and the Rangers deserved at least one win). They just can't put themselves in 0-2 hole all the time and think thay can come back.

My only worry is that with a little life how much will our fatigue start playing a factor. If this goes to 7 games again...I don't even want to think about it.

We've seen the Kings on the wrong side of the puck way too much when they've had a chance to win. Yes, they had a brilliant effort tonight, but it concerns me whether they can duplicate that on home ice.

… Yup. Don't forget to mention that the Rangers know how to come back from being down 3-1 in a series. We haven't been up 3-0 in a series in two years, a little different for us. If LA loses at home Friday, the Rangers have all the momentum in the world. Like I said in my previous post, momentum is a scary thing.

The Kings outplayed the Rangers by a substantial margin. If it wasn't for the "snow castles" then the score would probably have been 3-2. I don't think the Kings have taken their foot on the gas and still feel pretty positive about Friday.

Plus I probably jinxed the Kings with my quest to see the Cup handed out live. I went to game 5 in 2012 and they lost.

GKG!

Not once was it mentioned that the Kings could win the Cup tonight. At least state the fact that the Kings could lift the Cup instead of just saying "Winning the Series." There was ZERO hype about the potential of seeing the Cup lifted. They didn't even state that it was in the arena (or at least I didn't hear them say it). Did they even show it during the game or during the intermissions? Pathetic homers over at NBC sports. Judging by the broadcasters it was just another playoff game, not a potential Stanley Cup clinching game. I'm not bitter about losing this evening, but I certainly hope that NBC sports does a better job putting into perspective the possibility of the Kings winning the Cup. But I get it, NBC and NY go hand in hand. The focus will be on the Rangers trying to survive. Thank goodness the rest of the games will be on NBC so nationally everyone can watch the Kings' reign sometime soon.

emrick made mention of it early in the 1st. he said the Cup wasn't in the building but was nearby and ready. as time progressed and it looked as though LA may win then they would bring the Cup to MSG.

my guess is the Cup did enter the building last night with only a 1 goal lead late in the 3rd. otherwise they would look foolish if LA suddenly tied it up and won late in the 3rd.

Emrick's early mention was all i heard up through the middle to late 2nd period. i couldn't take anymore of Schreech, Homer O and ST*U Pierre, so i sync'ed up to Nick N and Daryl

Kopitar - last 11GP, 0G, 7A, 7Pts, 17 shots, 2PPA

I know the Kings ask him to do everything. I know it's not fair to expect everything every game. I know he's not Gretzky when it comes to offense. He can just be so effective offensively when he drives the net. He's got 1 goal in his last 18 games. 27 shots in those 18 games. 15 assists in those same 18 games though. Still, 1 goal since the 1st round. 5 ES points in the last 11 games. Richards has 5 ES points in the last 11 games too. I know he's asked to do more than Richards though. Again, I know the Kings ask him to do everything, and he pretty much does it.

Gaborik has to get back to the front of the net too. Those couple shots he had last night from the top of the left circle where he's fading toward the boards most likely aren't going to go in. Of the 13 goals he's scored in the playoffs, how many have been from outside of like 5 feet from the net? He causes so much chaos when he gets to the front.

I hate doing that. I wouldn't say anything after a win, since winning cures all. Of course I look at those numbers after a loss. Of course I do. A loss that was some slush away from maybe being a win. As they say though, with talent comes expectation. So much is expected out of Kopitar and Gaborik, that when the Kings lose, it's easy to look their way if they're not putting up goals/points in that particular game. Which I know isn't fair, because look where the Kings are.

Like they called that slash on Carter's breakaway? Or the penalty shot for covering the puck in the crease? Or the one for playing the puck with a broke ass stick?

We were not going to get those calls last night. Gotta deal with it and win on Friday.

I forget what they fans were complaining about but they were chanting "these refs suck" last night. Made me laugh as they were getting the majority of the calls.

Bettman wants to increase league revenues. Wouldn't surprise me if it is hard to get calls Friday either. LA can overcome it though. I am not worried.

Kings just wanted to break another record. This will be the most # of games any team has played to win the Cup in a single playoff season when it's all said and done now. The Kings would have tied the record winning last night.

A sweep would have been nice.

Bottom line is LA got a split in NY and is up 3-1.

Nothing in that last game made me nervous abut the Rags.

There is always a chance LA can lose Friday but I think they will come out strong.

This, it was a game of inches, the Rags held on by their finger nails and for second half of the game the Kings were giving it to them, some shavings stopped us. If the Kings play that way tomorrow we'll win especially since Sutter will have the last change and can match up lines better.

I'm expecting their best game of the playoffs on Friday.

I'm expecting a very angry team that the Rangers simply cannot match over 60 minutes. I'm also expecting the second line to have a monster game. Tanner Pearson was an absolute force in Game 4 and Toffoli and Carter were extremely good in Game 3. Hopefully the Kings have the mindset that they must - without a shadow of a doubt - let the Rangers know who the better team is.

Not even mad. I mean, I don't want to tempt fate so I was hoping for the win, but it is tough to sweep the SCFs: especially if Game 4 is on the road.

Thought they played their best game of the series by far but this game the "puck luck" and, as the Rags fan say, "ref luck" switched in favor of NY. Still thought the Kings would win regardless and fully thought they would tie it even with under a minute left...that's how well they were playing.

Kings aren't going to get handed anything by the refs so they need to be smarter about taking penalties as we aren't going to see many called against NY. Never seen a team dominate as much as LA did but only get one powerplay as a result of an actual hockey play as the other was a delay of game penalty. To call the Toffoli slash but then swallow the whistles on the two Carter breaks was pretty embarrassing but this team can overcome it. Simply need to stop playing with fire by taking so many penalites: looking at you Mitchell.

Still can't believe Carter doesn't score in the first. Looked like he thought it was going in and didn't want to steal Martinez's goal or something. I know he wouldn't do that but, man, still can't believe he doesn't tap that in.

Who is your god now?

I would have preferred to sweep and get it done and over with. But I knew the Rags werent going to throw in the rags. Lundqvist played a fantastic game and willed his team to victory. He really is an all-world goaltender.

I expect the Kings know they've given just a little bit of life to NY, and come Friday, our leaders such as Williams, Kopitar, Doughty, Richards, Brown are going to come out and perform.

I also wouldnt be shocked to see Regehr back in the lineup, and maybe we go with 7D. Mitchell has looked horrible last 2 games, after a pretty outstanding overall playoff run. I think he's gassed.

Gaborik hit a post and he also hit the shaft of Lundqvist stick (couldn't tell if it was going in or not) but that is about as close as it gets. I'm nervous because I want the Kings to win and I know they are prone to making our collective hearts stop. That being said, it is refreshing the next game is at home. I hope they bring their A game and win this crap so we can all have a happy weekend!
