The Kings will do everything in their power to make sure that tonight was the last lead they had to try to come back from. I like the chances of that being the case.

Heart breaking. TWICE! So close, yet so far away.

Only for one night. The Kings better prioritize closing the series before thinking of any parades.

Yup. Seal the deal in Game 5 and ignore parade talks before AND during Game 5. Once the team wins Game 5, then parade talks are more than justified; the team just earned the latter.

If the Kings play 3 more games like that they will win one.

Rangers were awful outside of the first 15 minutes of the game. Only reason that game was not a landslide was because of Lundqvist.

Not worried.

Despite the loss, I thought the Kings played a really strong game. They outworked the Rangers, beat them to the extreme majority of loose pucks, and tilted the ice to an absurd degree. Lundqvist did a great job, that snow buildup in front of the line stopped the puck, and that's how it goes.

I think this game more than anything else fit the "built for the playoffs" mentality that a lot of people liked talking about. That a lot of people thought didn't exist. It does exist and it was evident in this game. The Kings were bigger. Stronger. Tougher. And faster than even this team, which nobody thought would be the case. They turned the pressure on like no other team in hockey can, and they've done it a lot during this run, in similar situations. Other teams cannot do that.

Hopefully the magical run reaches its conclusion on Friday night.

The Rangers were outshot 30 to 3 in the second half of the second and third period; and 41 to 19 total. That's just staggering.

Frustrating game, but can't be upset with how the Kings played. It was an absolutely overwhelming show of force for the entire last half of the game.
Every line did good things, we had lots of scoring chances, and came mere inches from tying multiple times; posts, pucks on the goal line, everything but the back of the net. We just need to pick up on Friday where we left off today.

Off topic :sarcasm:

Pearson!! Wow did he have a game or what. The future of some of these kids will be fun to watch.

He is the best homegrown forward to play on the team since Kopitar. He makes something happen every shift. From having 25 NHL games played, prior to the playoffs, (averaging less than 10 minutes those games) to having 12 points in the playoffs and #2 in the NHL with plus 10 in the playoffs is impressive. He can beat any NHL defenseman, digs pucks out, winning battles, forces turnovers, making plays and getting hard shots on net consistently. Always working hard...not making stupid mistakes and never looking out of place. And when you consider he had about 200 NHL icetime minutes before the playoffs, it's crazy. And doing what he has done against: SJ, ANA, CHI and NYR.

Nothing against Toffoli; he is very good and will score more goals than Tanner.

Coach's Corner from tonight:

Funny to see Darryl Sutter so animated in his discussions with Don Cherry and Ron MacLean. Wish we knew what they were talking about.

So I drove home like Ricky Bobby so I can watch the game on time and... they lose. Not leaving work early on Friday, every time I do they lose.
