It is the first game of the series and the home team most of the time wins the first game, If the Panthers were able to win the first game it would have been a big advantage but they didn't, Vegas was the better disciplined team tonight and made good on their chances and deserved to win. Florida, well they made mistakes that they should have not have and also didn't capitalize on the great chances they had to score and then the melt down. Next game is the important one. Florida really needs to bring their A game and stay disciplined.

Yeah but going the other way and pretending nothing is wrong with this is just as stupid. We know the refs fix games because we literally have them on audio confirming they fix games.

The idea that you continue viewing games out of a league you are convinced is fixing games is perhaps the most preposterous notion of all.

Don't buy everything TNT sells. Pietrangelo at best inadvertently collided with the Florida player.

That entire lengthy scrum was driven by Florida players, namely Tkachuk. At last the officiating hammers Florida for it. It may have been the longest scrum I have ever seen that led to no fighting majors. A waste of everyone's time at that point. Beyond the message sending.
I’m fine with letting cross checking go here and there too. Except Florida also got called for that (correctly) a few minutes earlier

Look, scrums happen. It’s part of the sport. The Panthers initiated and took more liberties. And how that is always officiated is a 2 minute powerplay. You want to go for 2 and 10? Sure. But handing out a 4 minute penalty on some after the play antics that don’t actually affect the game in any way with 4 minutes left? Just ends a good game on a bad note for all fans

I don't understand why no one every takes Tkachuk and Bennet's heads off at the end of the game when they're punching people

It reminds me of Marchand in 2011 against the Canucks. Free swings. End of the game I know players are worried about instigator penalties but if you're in scrum and they're throwing punches you're not getting an instigator.

I get they don't want to 'give them energy" but You beat the snot out of those two, its not giving them energy for next game and probably makes them a bit more worried. Kassian tought Tkachuk a lesson.

Chippy players don't learn until someone beats the crap out of them. I look forward to the day it happens

This needs to happen to Kachoke about every third game.

It would help if the reffing was better.

Why didn't they call Gudas for grabbing a Vegas player's head and dragging him to the ice?

Why didn't Florida in the first not get called for sitting knees first on a Vegas player for over 20 seconds with no attempt to get off?

Why didn't Ekblad get called for multiple roughing plays to Vegas players' heads?

Why didn't Bennett get called for a blatant trip right in front of a ref?

I can keep going and keep playing this game, but as usual, they let a lot go on both teams. The difference tonight is they called really chitzy shit on both teams. It wasn't one sided. Both teams got dicked around by the refs.

Why didn't Bennett get called when he walked right behind Hill in the crease and crosschecked him from behind? Florida got away with a ton of stuff tonight and they also do literally every single game lol

I;d said earlier in the thread that the string of luck is over for bob
You don't think Hill didn't have some luck tonight? He did on Cousin's save. Most of the time that goes in. Hill was lucky he stopped it. The Panthers hit what 2 posts, that was luck they didn't go in.

Why didn’t Vegas get called for a blatant interference on a forecheck right before the empty net? Why wasn’t Eichel given 2 minutes in the scrum?

It's hard for me to fathom the lengths people will go to try to defend something like this. It was a high stick and it was blatantly a high stick. The puck was touched well above his shoulders in an absurdly obvious fashion. You can't fully extend your stick while standing upright and have it not be a high stick. Leaning slightly over changes nothing, the pick was well above his shoulders. They should just get rid of high sticks.
Just say you either don't know the rule or don't understand it.

Again if you have replays of any of that I’d gladly take a look. But there weren’t replays for a reason. There were replays of a blatant boarding on Stephenson let go and Pietrangelo’s cross check.

You say the reffing wasn’t one sided. Do you actually believe that reffing is at all times perfectly even? I’m not wearing tin foil and saying they’re intentionally favoring anyone but these are judgment calls and one team is going to get the good end of the whistle every game. Tonight that was Vegas. And it didn’t change the outcome of the game but it made it a lot less enjoyable
