I have no dog in this race and I can see that it was pretty blatantly one sided.

Most important thing is to pay attention of timing, if you just compare stats its not inevitable at all. When was odd calls given and noncalls happened what was situation. Yes one team was helped at critical moment several times.

Some may say it was coincidence, its not there is no room for randomness in business.

Why didn’t Vegas get penalized for what they deserved…?

How many scrums end up in one guy going for 4 and not even 2 on the other team? I’ve seen 4 and 2 frequently. How many of those happen with 4 minutes left? How many in the playoffs? In the Cup?

Then a minute later Pietrangelo, known similarly for his late game antics, breaks his stick on a cross check and nothing.

Refs didn’t affect the outcome of the game significantly but they were still very annoyingly one sided and took away any change the Panthers had to make a late push

Don't buy everything TNT sells. Pietrangelo at best inadvertently collided with the Florida player.

That entire lengthy scrum was driven by Florida players, namely Tkachuk. At last the officiating hammers Florida for it. It may have been the longest scrum I have ever seen that led to no fighting majors. A waste of everyone's time at that point. Beyond the message sending.

Of course refs can do wrong.

This isn’t about refs “doing wrong”. This is about people locking themselves in echo chambers where the reffing is always “worse than ever” and the game is fixed because apparently these totally unbiased fans don’t agree with the calls.
Sorry but as someone who doesn't have a rooting interest in these finals I disagree. I don't think they fix games but you can't say they did a good job calling the game. It was piss poor reffing and you know it. This is what happens when game management is how they want to call the game.

Do you know a player can fully extend their stick on the ice too? It is about the height where the puck touches the stick, which was not above his shoulders.
It's hard for me to fathom the lengths people will go to try to defend something like this. It was a high stick and it was blatantly a high stick. The puck was touched well above his shoulders in an absurdly obvious fashion. You can't fully extend your stick while standing upright and have it not be a high stick. Leaning slightly over changes nothing, the pick was well above his shoulders. They should just get rid of high sticks.

Once you've planted a seed in your own mind that the refereeing isn't bad, you're not going to afford yourself an objective viewpoint. That should be obvious.

You’re not getting it.

I’m not saying refs don’t f*** up calls or there isn’t anything wrong with the referring. We’re talking about humans calling a fast paced sport. There are clearly mistakes and differences in viewpoint depending on who is making the calls.

I’m just not coming from the perspective that the game is fixed or that every call I don’t agree with proves incompetence. That’s what turns you into “one of those fans” who is just incessantly bitching.

Bob played great. 2 goals he was completely screened and couldn't see the puck. The difference is in the other series the puck hit him and tonight they went in. You got to be good but you need some luck too. He didn't have the luck tonight.

I;d said earlier in the thread that the string of luck is over for bob

I don't understand why no one ever takes Tkachuk and Bennet's heads off at the end of the game when they're punching people

It reminds me of Marchand in 2011 against the Canucks. Free swings. End of the game I know players are worried about instigator penalties but if you're in scrum and they're throwing punches you're not getting an instigator.

I get they don't want to 'give them energy" but You beat the snot out of those two, its not giving them energy for next game and probably makes them a bit more worried. Kassian tought Tkachuk a lesson.

Chippy players don't learn until someone beats the crap out of them. I look forward to the day it happens

I don’t know it actually.

Florida stands no chance if they give up 4 goals a game. You’re not going to score 5 goals on Vegas very often.

That giveaway by Tkachuk is something you would see in preseason.
He was Vegas's bitch with the Flames and it seems like he still is. VGK just seems to get under his skin instead of him getting under theirs.

Why didn't they call Gudas for grabbing a Vegas player's head and dragging him to the ice?

Why didn't Florida in the first not get called for sitting knees first on a Vegas player for over 20 seconds with no attempt to get off?

Why didn't Ekblad get called for multiple roughing plays to Vegas players' heads?

Why didn't Bennett get called for a blatant trip right in front of a ref?

I can keep going and keep playing this game, but as usual, they let a lot go on both teams. The difference tonight is they called really chitzy shit on both teams. It wasn't one sided. Both teams got dicked around by the refs.

Yeah but going the other way and pretending nothing is wrong with this is just as stupid. We know the refs fix games because we literally have them on audio confirming they fix games.

It is absurd that you think extending your stick dictates how high it is. It was almost parallel to the ice.

That is your high stick.
