I mean you gotta admit you’d love a player like that to play for Columbus. Johnny is a wuss compared to him, honestly
Not at all. Guys who slash and punch and won't drop their gloves are not the type I much care for.

Give me a Dubinsky, Foligno, Dorsett or Jared Boll any day of the week to root for. If Kachoke weren't such a wuss tool, I'd want him, but he isn't. Screw him and whatever team he is on.

Bennett is legit one of the dirtiest POS players in the NHL I've seen in recent memory. Crazy how he gets away with cross checking Hill in the back and then cheapshots a Knights player when he wasn't even looking his way right at the end of the game because he's a sore loser little B***H. Seriously how does he keep getting away with that crap without any suspensions? Its like he wants to go out to intentionally injure people.

Good to see Theodore finally getting the spotlight. He’s an elite #1 Dman who would be a #1 d in about 20 other NHL teams.
He is an Elite Dman on Vegas too. Was on pace for 61 pts this year, just only played 55 games this year
Of course refs can do wrong.

This isn’t about refs “doing wrong”. This is about people locking themselves in echo chambers where the reffing is always “worse than ever” and the game is fixed because apparently these totally unbiased fans don’t agree with the calls.
I am with the other guy. The refs in the NHL SUCK with capitals SUCK dude. They are the most incompetent officials in all pro sports.

There is literally language that "softens" their incompetence or "subjectivity" whichever you want to call it.

1. Marbles in the pocket

2. Uh oh the other team has to watch out now, they've had 3 pp in a row!

3. Game management

etc...

How many times have you seen a ref staring at a play down low, where the player HAS the puck and he's tripped, high sticked, boarded, whatever but a clear penalty, and he's watching because the player has the puck and his arm doesn't go up. Instead its a ref 100 ft away at center ice calling it....

Refs in the NHL are garbage, I also don't think its 'fixing', rather its incompetence. I used to think it was the prior, but now that I watch games across the league regularly, I see its not about one team, its the refs are just awful

I have no real dog in this fight, but anybody whining that Florida didnt get enough love from the refs is out of their minds.

I fully expect Paul ‘every penalty called against us was bullshit’ Maurice to complain, but come on people. At worst, the Panthers got a taste of their own medicine.

Nah, I understood your bias hot garbage take.
So you don't understand. The rule, and it is written, is natural shoulder level when standing erect. He was leaned over, therefore the contact was at or below his natural shoulder level. If you had listened to the rules guy during the review, he explained it well.

But keep whining, because that one decision is what caused your team tonget badly outscored.

Again if you have replays of any of that I’d gladly take a look. But there weren’t replays for a reason. There were replays of a blatant boarding on Stephenson let go and Pietrangelo’s cross check.

You say the reffing wasn’t one sided. Do you actually believe that reffing is at all times perfectly even? I’m not wearing tin foil and saying they’re intentionally favoring anyone but these are judgment calls and one team is going to get the good end of the whistle every game. Tonight that was Vegas. And it didn’t change the outcome of the game but it made it a lot less enjoyable
Perfectly even? No. But if they let a handful go on both sides, you're not going to prove favoritism/favorable calls without dissecting the game shift by shift. You wanna do that to shut me up and change my mind, be my guest.

But those guys are not even close to Tkachuk skill level, he’s a pest and sometimes he has these meltdowns, but his skill set is undeniable

etc... In what other pro sport does a team taking penalties mean the other team will and should get more calls later? NFL? NBA? do the call more strikes for the other team if one team is getting alot of strikes in Baseball? Nope, but in the NHL, oops you boys are getting too many powerplays, we need to give those guys a few now ok? Its Nonsense

It did change the outcome. The missed boarding call and the blatant interference on Barkov changed the game.

I’m fine with letting cross checking go here and there too. Except Florida also got called for that (correctly) a few minutes earlier

Look, scrums happen. It’s part of the sport. The Panthers initiated and took more liberties. And how that is always officiated is a 2 minute powerplay. You want to go for 2 and 10? Sure. But handing out a 4 minute penalty on some after the play antics that don’t actually affect the game in any way with 4 minutes left? Just ends a good game on a bad note for all fans
Disagree. The amount of liberties taken should be considered and Tkachuk alone probably punched 3 different guys multiple times. The run of the mill scrum, I’m with you on that. This one? No way. The goonage was pretty substantial.

This is why I laugh when they claim Vegas is getting away with stuff lol

Bro, go watch games across the league

The refs in the NHL are awful, its not rigged its incompetence.
when people are not cheering for either team, they can see the same bad calls happen all the time for every team while watching without a routing interest. When it happens to your team it just feels dirty. Every team gets hosed by the refs randomly at some point or another.

Because my opinion about refereeing isn’t tied to the team I am pulling for…?

isn’t that a weird concept?
I'm not pulling for either team. There is no excuse for missing blatant calls. When you look the other way when a guy gets hit from behind, it's easy to question the refereeing. Tonight showed once again how game management ruined what started out as a good to awful one.

Gretzky says Vegas can play better next game. Well Wayne so can Florida. This wasn't Florida's best. It was a close game, the difference was Vegas capitalized on their chances and Florida didn't. It is that simple.
Which is basically how the Panthers have been winning for weeks now.

Argue that it should be, sure. But there’s a standard. And game 1 of the Cup final with 4 minutes left is a really unfortunate time for that standard to change

Again, fun game. Unfortunately we had to watch 4 corners hockey for the last 4 minutes instead of getting one of the more exciting situations in hockey (empty net) because of something that happened with the clock stopped
