Few Oilers may be in the convo

McD is obvious (hopefully with Makar and MacK)
At this point, Bouch is probably highly likely
Then you got Hyman who is also probably likely
No solidified goalie yet - curious if Stu gets himself into that top 3?

Before the season, I would've only said McDavid.

You?
I think you are spot on, I think these playoffs will go a long way towards Bouch, Hyman and Skinner getting nods.

We will see how Hyman and Skinner come out of the gate next year though, more concerns about them riding a hot streak then a fella would have with Bouchard whose top end skills are rather obvious.

Anything can happen in a game 7. Florida or Edmonton. History is on the Panthers side. Momentum on the Oilers. If all the best players show up, then does it come down to a support player that makes their name as a game 7 hero?
Tarasenko has been close and has played solid all around series. He has won a Cup. Rodrigues always scored clutch goals for Pittsburgh

For Edmonton I think the big 3 will show well

Agreed, there’s something really fishy about correct calls being made in SCF games.

It’s highly corrupt that once the video was reviewed, it was clear that the offside was legitimate.

I hope there’s an investigation.
The CIA is on it apparently

Connor Brown has been really good as the playoffs have gone on. Forsling for Florida IMO but if all the stars show up. And I expect them to. May be a depth player that makes a difference. Hard to call a game 7. Best team in one game wins it all. Got to perform.

So does Sam Gagner suit up for game 7 to get his name on the cup or would that make Oilers look overconfident.
I'm sure Gagner can replace Perry's minutes
The way I understand it, the winning team has two names they can put forward to be placed on the Cup for people that didn't meet the criteria.

Curious though if the Oilers win on Monday, would Woodcroft get his name on the cup? I would guess not but I am not sure.

You’ve been wrong so much these playoffs your opinion isn’t worth much. Just imo
Florida going to a trap is important. Would throw Edmonton off...

IMO

They've had a marginal following since their existence. Doubt it will change anything.
If they win, they will likely have sellouts and a waiting list for next few years.

If they lose...well....I'm unsure how that could possibly attract new fans.

Perry is an intangibles guy. I could easily see him agitating a guy and drawing a penalty. He's got vet experience and a solid hockey IQ. I'd leave him alone and let him do what he does

You can definitely make a correct decision that isn’t necessarily the right one
You mean like when the guy proposes by saying "don't worry, I'll marry ya"

Vegas had Oilers as second best odds to win the Cup at the start of the regular season.

The victim mentality is sooooo strong w the Oilers.
Not really. All playoffs long and throughout the regular season, we’ve been trolled as frauds, victims or not contenders, similar to what you’re doing right now.

You’re present on these boards. Pay attention and stop picking and choosing what you hone in on. Better yet, use your brain and read the series thread from the start (you already have) so stop pretending you haven’t read the BS that I’m addressing.

Did it hamper the game for 100 years or whatever before it was reviewed?

Would you even have ever questioned that goal if not for the hail mary review being available?

None of us would've given it a second thought.

A play like that being looked at and scroinized hurts the game more than helps it.

The ref didn't call offside. Nobody saw offsides until it was looked at frame by frame and it's still not a sure thing.

What happens when a ref gets it wrong the other way and play is stopped incorrectly? We'll never know.
While I don't know what "scroinized" means, your assertion that "it's still not a sure thing". is inaccurate.

The overhead view is quite clear on this, the play was offside.

2 more days until game 7. Then 4 days until the draft after that. Then 2 days after that free agency starts. Then in like 2 months preseason starts.

No matter who wins the cup, i am interested in how good or bad one of these teams look to start next season.

If the Panthers complete the choke, i could see them having a very bad start to the season. I just don't think choking a 3-0 series lead in the finals is something you can fully recover from. I would honestly have every player see a sports psychologist before next season. lol
13 of them are free agents.

Meh, it's not that dramatic. It would be a brutal way to lose for the fans, no doubt, but losing in the finals, even like this, is still better for overall fan interest than not making it at all.
If the Oilers win it will be the most talked about final for quite some time. The 1942 Leafs are a trivial footnote. An Oilers comeback would truly be unparalleled and historic. This would be the one final where everyone remembered who lost.

How is there note more chatter about the offside review in this thread? Are we seriously all OK with this??
It is ruining the league. I honestly don't even care about game 7 after that call.

It makes no sense whatsoever. I've never bought into to conspiracy or corruption, but there is something fishy about that one.
What doesn't make sense? They've been reviewing offsides for years now.
The NHL war room has all the angles & had 1 that clearly showed it was offside.
1 inch or 1 foot is irrelevant, it was offside & it's not subjective like goalie interference. They've reviewed & overturned goals on plays just as close as this for years so let's not pretend they just brought this in during the games 1st intermission without telling anybody.

So does Sam Gagner suit up for game 7 to get his name on the cup or would that make Oilers look overconfident.
I'm sure Gagner can replace Perry's minutes
Please, stop with this idiotic sh**.

I'm not a Panthers fan. Point was this is a decisive moment in the game & despite saying it at the time (along with the missed calls b4 the 3-0 goal being as big) I was criticized, so I found it interesting that an American national writer who picked the Oilers to win the cup at the beginning of the season saw the same thing that I saw.

Both calls & non-calls can make a difference this time of year, Bruins fans saw it in game 5 2019 for example.
talk about victim complex.

Oh Noes - someone has a different opinion than me, so I must have been attacked"

Are the Oilers considered contenders now?

your team with the best player in the sport was considered the odds on favourite to go the whole way at the beginning of the year…

Not to mention Canadian media putting their bets behind the oilers at the start of the seaosn

The only doubt was Nurse 😂
