For Bob it’s a bit more sustainable unfortunately. When he’s on, he’s really really good.
Thing is that Bob didn’t really play above his usual level, this wasn’t Bob standing on his head. This is just watching a goalie play his usual game.

Bob didn’t steal this game for Florida, Florida played a subpar game all around and still came out with the victory while shaking off the rust

So the consensus seems to be that if you exclude the Panthers super star goalie Edmonton was the better team.
If you consider goalies to be part of the team then Florida was the better team.

We don't have to rely on polls to determine that the Oilers were clearly the better team. Bobrovsky is not a good goalie, he just got lucky as did the entire Panthers squad. The refs have to start calling the Panthers dives and the Panthers running out of luck and this series is Oilers to lose.

Lmao.

You’re right but not for the reason you think though. Panthers want him on the ice and it’d be a bad trade off for the panthers whoever goes off for 5 mins with him
All we saw is that the "meanness" of the Cats was nowhere to be found last night. Wonder which of the Oilers had them playing scared.

Yeah gave up seven shots in the third while up by two. Total shots 7-6 in that period. It was a clinic.
Total shots 7-6! Holy f*** what a clinic

I really hope some of yall are just trolling/joking because if you believe some of the crazy stuff yall are saying, well :baghead:.

Oilers played a solid game, ran into a better goalie and a team that took advantage of what opportunities they did have. Was a missed opportunity for the Oilers to steal one early and get started on the right track.

Gotta figure Florida probably doesn't play much worse than that, which isn't a good thing if you are an Oiler fan. I expect game 2 to be much more even.

Yeah

Panthers really learned from that Lighting series couple of years back

You can’t intimidate them physically, they can get into a scoring race and are comfortable in 1 goal games. No team has more 1 goal wins during the last 2 playoffs than the Panthers

Florida did to you what you did to Dallas in game 6

Watch hockey outsidd of Edmonton

Yo
Exactly. McD>>Barkov, Drai>>Tkachuk, Bouch>>Forsling, Skinner=Bob. The Oilers have the better players in every position compared to the Panthers ainec. The Panthers were unbelievably lucky. Oilers in 5.
Skinner is not equal to Bob in any way

Reading game threads reinforces the idea that many miss a lot of things because their attention is more on the thread. (definitely divided attention at best)
Or their bias is simply running rampant. :sarcasm:

So much for the United Canadian fans, eh?
LoL you guys are brutal on each other

Bob can't steal every game. If 6 more games are played in the same way, I think the Oilers will win the series.

That said - it was a long layoff and Boston heavily outplayed Florida in game 1 for the same reason.

Lots will change but I'd still have a pretty positive outlook if I was either team.

Looking forward to game 2.

I mean the idea that Edmonton is Canadas team is just media nonsense. Just like I’m sure US fans aren’t rallying around Florida.

How the “deserve to win meter” ended yesterday FYI, finished far more even.

You're the same poster that always talks about the Oilers having no dangerous shots and inflating shot totals; you even said it about this game. Yet here you have posted a chart that shows shot location with a cluster of about 10-15 shots in the home plate high danger zone. Interesting how you craft your narrative.

Since when have Canadian fans been united? A small minority would like to see McDavid win a cup, but they don’t have to like the oilers during the process.

For the majority, Florida is the team Canada wants to win
