Lines are different today.

Brown-Wainwright-Karimov
Filak-Di Iorio-Johnston
Kostuch-Edwards-Doucette
Moses-Luecke

Hopefully this gets Brown and Di Iorio going. They've definitely been fighting it. Doucette seemed to have a little something with Edwards yesterday too.
Also Maillet starts but I think we all knew that lol.

Edit: Barr is out due to illness. Let's hope it hasn't spread around the team..last thing u want in a 3in3. Let's also hope it's a small thing for Barr after last yr lol.

I am pretty sure I saw Mangone mouth at Di Orio “this guy has Covid” on Friday so it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s going around.

Few random thoughts through the first few games.

PP is a legitimate liability, need to change up who the QB is as many have said.

Letang not sticking up for his guys and staying silent while they are falling victim to lack of calls. I guess it’s just his style but frustrating to see.

Really liked Edwards on both ends of the puck, great backchecker.

Di Orio defensively has looked really strong to me but idk if things are clicking for him offensively yet.

Karimov strong forechecker and on the rush but east west game could use some refining.

Confused Barr scratched?
That isnt going to improve our pp.
Pp is designed by Jeffrey think pk and haley are doing alright its jeffery and pp terrible. Just bad guys in bad spots for success.
Hope we get 2 points today make weekend respectful.
Good for Letang finally moving lines around to get some chemistry going.
Wainwright and Doucette will be next I hope. Like speed and minded players will be dynamite, I'm sure of it. Give them franchesschetti even I'd be good with that even lol

Anderson and bridgewater in lineup together?? Very interesting actually.

Pp play is just the worst I've seen by us in past 10 years, pp2 is young shoot from top on pp2 wow that's not going to work at this level.
Pp1 play is Fischer top pass to doucette for shot so predictable. We need to move puck to bumper and get them chasing and find open guy. Wtf are we doing play the overload then! If can't do anything 1-3-1, then Change or switch to overload PP simplify it for crying out loud.

Weak goal forsure soo's 1st one.

Tired and disconnected is how I would describe that period. The PP still looks awful and they won't change anything. Fischer takes way too long to make decisions at the top. Despite all that the game should still be 0-0 but Maillet gives up a terrible goal. This game is there for the taking but they have to actually go out and take it

Sludge of a game which I expected in 3rd of 3in3. Not giving them much. Maillet some big saves. Just need someone to step up & pocket one.
Yeah this hasn't been a great game. The Kostuch-Edwards-Doucette line looked good in that period. Maillet has given them a chance with those two big stops on DeZoete and Hayes. I think Karimov gets a goal in the third. He's had a few good looks including getting robbed on the breakaway

Bodin off my bad list… his best game to date. Loved the big hit - Hatcher/Dillingham caliber.
Fischer trying to do too much.
Lines learning to play together but a ways to go yet. Except for Doucette, we don’t have a whole lot of quick release finishers.
As was mentioned on previous page, 4 points of 6 is a pretty decent tally for the weekend.

We'll take the 3rd in 3 Win. 4 pts of possible 6
If our PP gets us 1 goal a game in all games this season we would be 4-1
That should be a focus. Put a pp1 together and run them... pp 2 can be young guys learning developing. Until then we will be last in pp which should be embarrassing for Letang and Company!
It's either system or Personelle on ice. Start with vets and earn pp1 selfish players like young and Brown shouldn't be pp1 period til change.

Some up coming tests with Bulldogs and Generals this coming week.
We need a pp that gives us a chance or just decline the pps and play 5 on 5.lol

Sim scratched again wonder what happens with that it's not good to scratch him again this year. Chamberlain needs to play too.
Thought Anderson was solid today. Limited ice

That was officially one of the weirdest weekends of Sting hockey I've seen lmao. What a bizarre group of games. That final minute was utter chaos & those linesman were just a disaster.

How about the PK?!? 15/16 this year and an OHL best 93.8%! With multiple rookies on it. Kill off 3:31 at the end. Maillet was awesome in his 2nd start. Bad 1st goal & didn't let it bother him. Couple monster saves in the 2nd & 3rd. That should give Letang great trust in him.

Omeri gets a flukey one but he earned that. I've been too critical of him just because I prefer Barr/Bridgewater. He & Hurt were amazing this weekend as the 2nd pair. Thought Young had a great game today too. Gotta love that Bodin hit!! My god that was so much like Dillingham & hatcher. Utter BS the guy who instigated has a cage on. Should be kicked out for that IMO. He has some things to work on but I like him. Moves it well. Monster along the boards..just needs to move his feet more.

I'll say the PP looked semi competent today which is a step... But it's costing this team badly. It HAS to improve. Especially with Brantford and Oshawa upcoming....

All in all very happy. Should've been a 2-0-1 weekend. Still get 4 of 6. Battled hard all 3 games. I thought their defensive play was excellent today & yesterday. These lines seem to mesh better up front. I loved how the vets played 2nd half yesterday and today. Filak/Wainwright/Moses/Doucette skated & battled very hard. All were great on PK.

If they play like this all yr we'll be more than happy as fans & they'll give themselves a shot in most games.

Well it wasn't pretty but two points is two points. 4/6 points in most of these guys first ever 3-in-3 isn't too shabby at all. Stupid penalty by Karimov in the final few minutes but another great PK to close out the game. We've been very loud in our criticism of the PP (rightfully so) but we should probably be just as loud in our praise of the PK. They've killed off 15 straight penalties since giving up a goal on their first PK of the year. I liked the physicality that we played with in the third. Good hits from Bodin and Doucette. Nice to see Maillet get his first career win. Didn't have to do much but did make those two big saves on DeZoete and Hayes when they were tied in the second. I like Hurt-Omeri as our second D pairing. They were really solid this weekend especially the last two days. Hurt 2A and a +2 this weekend and Omeri with the game winner today and a +1 on the weekend. They'll need to figure out their issues with the forwards and on the PP if they want to have a successful weekend next week. Bulldogs/Generals/Firebirds will a really tough test for this young team

The points haven't come for Di Iorio but I have been thoroughly impressed by his defensive play. Twice today he made a huge play defensively. Breakaway in the 2nd he got back & made the guy lose control. In the 3rd he was the only one back on a 2on1 and he defended it perfectly.

Had 2 good chances today just couldn't finish. Been more of a struggle for him offensively than Edwards, but he's still making a good impact out there & the goals will come.

Karimov was buzzing. Had 3or4 good chances especially that breakaway. He's still a bit to chaotic but that'll take time to iron out. Not a great hit at the end either. hopefully isn't suspended but the league seems to be suspending everyone early on.

Nice to see a little luck on our side with that game tying goal called back due to offside. We could have easily lost that game and surrendered an extra point....very close. Thought this was Sarnia's poorest game this weekend despite the win oddly enough. Had the powerplay been clicking at a sub-par 20% we would likely be 4-1 right now. PP success is dependent on systems/coaching, so the coaching staff can continue taking it off the chin until they figure it out IMO. No way it should be this bad after what we saw in pre-season. The PK on the other hand absolutely deserves some love as mentioned. If you look at the tight scores, it's probably the reason we have the points we have....just saying!

Really liked Karimov yesterday, despite that bone head call at the end that almost cost us 2 pts. He is a hound on the puck, reminds of a pitbull. Once he adjust fully, look out. Lots of raw talent there.

Bodin played his best game. Kept it simple and used his big body numerous times. Couple massive hits. Love to see that style of play, that's what we need from him. He ain't a PP1 guy. We all know it, big shot or not.

Good to see some vets step up this weekend. Doucette was consistent over the weekend. Thought he was one of the better players. StingUpdates is right in saying guys like Filak/Wainright battled hard, but we also need them to find the net, especially #12. Their contributions offensively will be the difference between losing a game by a goal or winning by one or two.

Totally agree. Wainwright been a bit disappointing. He's giving it 100% he just hasn't had any scoring chances. Idk what's going on. Last year he'd have 3or4 a game just because his speed. Brightside is 2-1-2 with Brown Karimov Di Iorio Wainwright & Filak not scoring is pretty encouraging because they'll get going eventually.

And if the PP is just OK that'll be a drastic upgrade to what it's been lol.

It's early so these could change but if this team continues to play fairly strong 5on5, has a good PK & keep getting stable goaltending that's a helluva foundation for a young team to work with because they should get better as the year goes on with gaining experience.

Beckham Edwards named rookie of the week in the OHL! 3G/1A weekend for him. Been a phenomenal start for him. I've said this before, but I knew the hype around him was that he could score but I had no idea he was such a smart, high IQ, 2way player.

We know how Letang is with rookies sometimes & he has him out regularly on the PK including in the final 3 minutes yesterday where he had a big clear.

He's gonna be a really special player in this league. Having him & Di Iorio down the middle sure is gonna be exciting.

Can't help but chuckle at Cowan being sent back (and Bonk and Dickinson) to London. So many times we've (and other teams IE: Guelph right now lol) lost guys to them turning pro when they weren't ready & it screwing us for either being able to go for it, or getting a massive haul to accelerate a rebuild.

Yet somehow these guys always get there guys back who win MVPs, league championships.. Cruel world 😂
