I'm pretty happy with how ice time is being deployed currently other than Doherty. I'd like to see him be given a shot with some better linemates.

Kostuch, Brown are playing a good amount. Hurt a ton. Andersen got good ice today. I'm sure if we keep falling further they'll give the U17s more & more ice.

The fact most of these games are likely to be blowouts will also help that.

Agree about Doherty I wouldn't mind seeing him with Wainwright and Brown for a game or 2.

I give Fischer a ton of credit. I haven't seen many 17U Dman asked to do as much as him. He doesn't have one other veteran Dman to look to/help with assignments like Dickinson, Parekh, Mews etc have.

Top pair, PP, PK, late game etc. hes asked to do everything while playing with rookie D partners. He does a great job not showing frustration or showing up his partners when they make those rookie mistakes.

Certainly not a perfect Dman by any means but he's a damn good one and will be a real great one in the coming years. He showcases he'll do what it takes too. He was the guy last yr in G6 to fight Sim when the team was flat as a 16 yr old. Today he drops them cause we are so flat.

He'll be a great leader for what I hope will be a terrific Dcore in the coming years with Barr, Hurt, Young, Bridgewater, Omeri, Andersen etc.

I don't get throwing in Chartier half way through the 3rd. Hopefully he gets the start Friday. Also hope to see the younger guys start to get some more ice time soon. Once the coaches realize we aren't making the playoffs. Which after this week it should be known if we will have a chance or not. I think if Flint wins 1 or 2 more and Erie wins 1 more I think it's over.
Letang is probably the worst coach I've ever seen at goalie management. From pulling goalies in weird spots, starting the wrong goalie or not being able to pull them at the end of the game properly. Simply baffling sometimes.

Fischer has probably been my favourite out player this year. Sure he had a couple rough games early but lately he has been solid.... I would not be surprised if he gets taken late first round in the NHL draft. He's got the NHL pedigree and tremendous upside.

I'd take your last year squad over this one, but this is the hand we were dealt. We'll see what they can do.
It was a great team. But yours is great in a different way. Alot more size & grit. Might be better come playoffs..similar worry tho that we had in net.

Think you've got the best chance vs LDN.

Fischer is getting better most games but still makes those bad mistakes bad passes older guys don't, hopefully with a D coach next year he can clean that up ans become a top end D for us. What I'm not liking is our top 3 lines they are super stale. 1st line isn't generating anything to be honest schwindt hasn't been in play most times lately. Filak came back is scoring but not much going on with the 2nd line either. 3rd line seems like 3 different pages out there doherty has been skating carrying his line offensively but D zone on other hand OMG

I would like to see some shades of next year what have we got to lose?
put some lines together and tell them move puck.

Wainwright Brown Doucette
Filak kostuch doherty
Schwindt way sikic( will be gone so )
Hall moses lominac ( bang everything)
(Missing that full heavy line)
Chartier in net.

We all know this Coach will run his 20s til the end and showed last year and world Jr doesn't change anything or adjust

haha where's your boy simmer? Your absolutely right tho... we do need a proper D coach... I bet Letang is so heavily invested in the D side that he's rarely there on the O side with Haley... which is scary because what can Haley possibly tell the O guys.... Probably a big reason why our power play is abysmal.

Agree have 1 thing to say on last years team we should have kept Anson Thornton for last years run. We had wrong guy anchoring us
haha don't even get me started on this!

My good luck has worn off. The Sting are now 2-1 with me in attendance this season. Biggest lesson for the team this game is their effort level after giving up goals. They gave up three goals in 44 seconds in the first. The Soo came out flying in the second and scored twice in the first 3:30. After the Soo's goal to make it 6-3 Sarnia's effort level dropped considerably and gave up another goal because they were standing around. Not to say they weren't showing perseverance at all. The Sting fought back to make it 3-1 and 5-3 just need keep that compete level up even when you hit road blocks. I liked Doherty's game again today. 4 PTS in his last 5 GP. Wouldn't mind seeing him get an opportunity in the top 9. Fischer's offensive game has been coming around a bit more lately. 5 points in his last 5. He had a really good shot from the point on the PP for the second goal. Seen that a few times this year. Filak with goals in all three games this weekend. All of them came in tight. That's where he's got be if he wants to score. Andersen looked pretty good in his debut. Was calm playing the puck and made a few nice defensive plays with his stick. Hopefully we give Surzycia a little rest on Friday night because you can tell he needs it. Sorry for the extra long post LOL

Yah watching the bench Letang is always talking to the D. Haven't been thrilled with him at times but he's also been put in a crap spot..Staubitz unexpectedly leaves in the summer..then Sullivan really early in the season. Left for a month+ with WJCs.

Excuses but also has to be a really tough yr as a HC especially mixing in the youngest team in the conference. They gotta get a legit D coach & let 1 of the other 2 go. Jeffery you'd think would be a better F/PP coach but never know I guess.

Very excited about the future on D.
Young 18
Fischer 17
Omeri 17
Barr 16
Hurt 16
Bridgewater 16
Andersen 16

Will they all pan out? Unfortunately no. But the more darts ya got the more likely you r to hit a bullseye. Fischer for sure gonna be a stud. Young is solid. Barr & Hurt I'm confident will be very good OHL Dmen but we've seen guys stagnate before. I'm high on Bridgewater. Elite skating, edges with great offensive instincts, vision. Andersen been Legionnaires best D all yr. Chippy, but is pretty competent with the puck. I could see him being a perfect complimentary partner for a Barr or Bridgewater. Omeri is a solid depth D who could be more if his skating improves.

Your talking 2 more seasons with all these guys, 3 with Barr, Hurt, Bridgewater, Andersen & outside shot of Fischer as an OA. Plus whoever else emerges or whoever they take this year. That's how you build a championship level Dcore. They build together. See it w/LDN. They've had all there guys forever.

Huge & I mean huge summer for finding some gems at F to go with Wainwright, Brown, Kostuch & maybe an emerging Doherty?? Haha. Hopeful but 0 guarantee with Luecke, Denney, Sim, Hall.

Sting should somehow get Danny Syvret .... I think he's coaching a AAA team in London. Or poach Delmore from Windsor... I don't know... they have to do something tho.

Letang did switch up the lines in the third. They looked like this:

Brown-Sikic-Doucette
Kostuch-Filak-Schwindt
Sim-Wainwright-Moses
Hall-Way-Doherty

I wonder I'd he keeps them on Friday night or jumbles them completely

I’d love to see Letang keep these third period lines together for the next few games. See how the chemistry is. They looked good.

Bridgewater was back in Stratford today and helped his team get a 3-2 win over Listowel, the top team in the midwestern conference. Bridgewater had a productive game putting up 2A. Michael Denney had a goal to put his total up to 30. He's the third player in the GOJHL to hit that mark this year

haha don't even get

I like Delmore but as I see it Windsor has a poor defence this year , just saying .
Delmore isn't with Spits since Head coach was fired he resigned too but he forsure would be an upgrade for our staff.

Well going by their hires we gotta look for guys who played here at one time lol.

Jordan Hill comes to mind but I know he stepped away from coaching for a bit. Maybe he'll want back in after a bit of time away?

Any other former Sting guys have coaching experience haha.

haha thats why I went with Delmore... the only ex-sting player coach that I could think of. I actually heard Hill was working with Adam Oates in player development.... makes me think he's a no. Jeffries is not a sting alumni.... so progress?
