There’s a LOT of moves left to be made, signings to come and injuries to avoid but I could easily see the Sting fighting for a top 3 position in the West next year and with Gaudreau in net come playoffs I think there’s definetly reason to be optimistic.
One can hope! Lol. Owen Sound, Flint, Kitchener should all be top notch as well. GUE looks solid. WSR if Johnston returns will be good. Falls off after that in my opinion.

That’s about how I see it too. Each has issues that need to be addressed. How well that’s done will determine what order they fall in....and health....I guess I don’t need to remind Sting fans of that after last season.

Shocker, London strikes again! 2 guys on this roster who might not even make the Sting. Also, Letang couldn't get even one of his own guys rostered but every other coach did.
I'm not overly surprised. Daviault didn't play the best. Too many turnovers. Was pressing a bit to much. MacDonell had he made it would be for a specific role 4th line, PK, energy & from what ppl say this group is very deep. I did chuckle at Bonk making it tho.

Gaudreau stops all 11 shots he faces in his half-game today. Looked very sharp not sure he allowed 1 rebound.

I watched the 2nd period of the Gaudreau game today. He looked very sharp and as you said was just vacuuming up pucks.

With all due respect did you watch any games they played last season?
I get jumping to your conclusion especially on Bonk not being a regular but I'm curious what players you think were better that were passed?
Both of those youngsters showed large in the first round of the playoffs.

Decent for sure but not worthy of this selection at the moment

we may be arguing different things.

if you are suggesting they are bubble u18 hlinka players, i would agree with you.

if you are saying they are not good enough to play on sarnia, your way off or way over valuing some guys on sarnias roster.

Hard to say I wasn’t at the selection camp, they both might have had big summers and outplayed the two sting players. I personally only think Daviault had a shot at making it.

wow....massive news for this team. Correct me if I'm wrong but, is that basically not two top 6 forwards just inserted into our line up just like that? lol

they were always thought to be coming were they not?

If you can show me anywhere that was said by anyone, then sure?
So basically the Sting now have a min of 12 left shot forwards signed so someone is going to have to go for these new imports. Who is it? I assume Hill is gone as an OA. Do they move two of Dann, MacDonell, Filak, Max or possibly Burke? Seems like a step backwards for team looking to compete.

Edit - I see Limpar-Lantz was the one that Seca had said they would "see how it goes". Obviously Seca did his job and got him to commit, Well done. That's big.

i guess when you said 'its massive', it read like you were surprised they signed. i thought it was all but done they were coming when they were selected.

Vilmanis was but Lantz was not. Was a project. He played games in the SHL so it seemed unlikely after that. But after they let Malyavin go had to know Seca had something cooking. Huge signing.

Let's go!!! Knew Vilmanis was gonna sign but not Lantz. Great fricken work by Seca. As a 19 year old he got games in at the SHL level & was an extra so got to practice a lot with them. Another solid sized guy as well standing at 6'0", 190.

An already sweet looking forward unit gets a boost. Get me to opening night nowwwwwwwww

i dont know anything about him, point a game at u20 as a 19 year old is a bit of meh, no?most good 19 year olds in sweden are playing in one of the two mens leagues are they not?

This team is stupid deep. Burke or Sikic on 3rd line w/MacDonell, Filak. Martone should be an impact rookie but might be on line 4 with Wainwright who showed very well as a rookie.

Voit-Lantz-Dann
Vilmanis-Namestnikov-Sikic
Burke-MacDonell-Filak
Martone-Wainwright-

McIntyre, Lalkin, Vogelsberg, Harper, Doherty, Degelas all fighting for one spot.

Im not expecting him to be a superstar by any means but we had a swede a few years back who had 19 points in 42 games in the same league who also played a few SHL games then he came over & had 47 points in 68 games then 81 the following year. Lantz had 37 in 42.

So if he can come in & be a 60-ish point player that's a major boost to an already strong unit.
