Like i always say.. The reffing in this league is awesome & needs no fixing or adjusting whatsoever! Lol.

all seriousness this team is actually a very disciplined team. They rarely take "lazy" stick penalties or do overly egregious stuff. Another good sign of a well coached team..

Our most PIMed player was MacDonell who had 60 in 33 games. Nobody else has even hit 50 yet with game #45 tomorrow. Very impressive honestly. I'm not even sure what our most common infraction would be.

Hadn’t really considered this but you’re right. With MacDonell and L’il Max gone, the “chippy for no particular reason” element of this team is gone. This team is currently presenting itself as cool, calm and efficient.
Could you imagine the fate of somebody trying to goad Del Mastro into a fight? Wouldn’t want to be him.

We miss some of the nastiness at times, but in general I think it's a rather soft league this year. I've said this before, but last yr WSR&FLT were mean. They bullied us. Not a coincidence they met in the conference finals.

This year? KIT is soft. LDN doesn't play mean. WSR is soft in their own end. FLT isn't anywhere near as mean. GUE isn't physical. OS is probably the most physical because they always are. I think our D is probably the meanest in the conference. Especially when Hoover plays. Dilly & Del Mastro beat the crap out of guys. Love how when anybody goes near our net they are sat down or tossed into the boards.

I think it was the Soo game where a SSM guy hit Voit from behind & a scrum started. He stayed when Burke, LL came over then when 77 came skating over he left in a hurry lol. He's an intimidating dude. Man amongst boys. Anderson & Dillingham have been begging guys to fight lately. No takers on SSM, SAG, KIT.

Sting are going to need some nasty eventually in playoffs and I'm not sure they have it. Certainly not on forward. You're right, only OS and Flint have it now. Sting got rid of theirs and time will tell if they regret it.

I'd say yes & no. MacDonell & Martone were great for energy, physical play & their relentless attitude was awesome & i miss watching them, but both were B6 this yr. They got 6'6" Anderson who's physical to go with Way who's very strong & gritty & adding Del Bel Belluz pushed Filak who's physical, pesty to line 3.

Not to mention Del Mastro who's physically maybe the most imposing guy in the league. I do wish they had 1 T6 F who had a mean streak, but as mentioned LDN, WSR, KIT, GUE don't. OS is built sorta similarly where their T6 is all skill, but their B6 is physical & big. FLT doesn't play that physical, in-your-face style ever since Othmann left.

But only time will tell & some teams really ramp it up come playoffs.

I think you have lots actually. Agreed you tend not to initiate contact but you answer the bell when it needs done. As long as you push back in today's game thats all you really need to do. Congrats Sting Fans certainly looks like you will get that long owed deep playoff run. I feel like it's this year or NEVER. Lol 😆

I don't agree at all. Relying on a 16 and 17 year old for your grit/toughness is kinda comical. I'd much rather take my chances with the guys we brought in for that...guys that have in-depth league/playoff experience, a OHL Championship/Mem cup run and a world junior gold medal. The two you mention, well one has zero and the other has 6 games of playoff experience. I get that you obviously have a personal connection to Angus, but come on man....lol. Del Mastro and Anderson alone fill the void left by Martone and MacDonell in that department...and then some.

I remain a huge fan of both Martone and MacDonell. Been watching their games as well when I get a chance. I'm happy for us and I'm happy for them. They are clearly excelling in Missy and are getting opportunities. They will both be better players for that. Sure it will suck the next few years watching them light it up knowing we had them here, but like most of us have said allll year, this is Sarnia's chance to go for it and there has never been a better time. It's just the nature of the beast.

It was glaringly obvious we didn't have what it takes for a run before the trades. The 8-2 record since the trades and all those crazy stats @StingUpdates has been posting is starting to tell a whole different story, and has set this team on the right course to make that long playoff run.

Back at home looking to make it 6 straight tonight. SSM played a close game with us a week ago then played a close game w/WSR last night. If we underestimate or look past them we'll regret it.

Let's hope they continue to play as they have & can keep the streak going. Called L2s breakout game last week so this week I go for line 3. Vilmanis & Filak both get on the board tonight!

Just have to be ready to play. Missy snuck by North Bay last night (Martone GWG). Don’t want to see the same kind of upset here tonight.

Excellent opening 20. Our best in some time. They're playing with some energy. Love this 4th line.

Now let's hope they don't fall asleep here & think it's over

Couple touchdowns on the board lol. What an ass kicking that was! Good to see Anderson pot one. He’s earned that one. Can see him becoming a bigger factor for the team as we keep rolling. That 2nd line is playing like the leagues best 1st line. Unreal production from them. 4/4 on PK and 3/4 on the PP as both have been absolutely phenomenal the last almost month. This is fun, entertaining hockey from this group. Love it.

The poor 3rd line man lmao. Somehow they don't get a goal. Vilmanis somehow pointless. They fricken tried they just couldn't buy a bounce

This ain't no 2nd line. It's an elite 1st line. Pastujov is unbelievable. DelBelBelluz is on FIRE & Sikic since December has been a stud.

Was only a matter of time for Voit. He's been working. Finally rewarded. I am SO happy Andersen scored. That fricken kid deserved it & then some. That backcheck while up 10 goals is what it's all about. Hockey gods rewarded him.

Gaudreau was awesome in PD3. Another sharp outing for Ben. Just awesome stuff. Crowd was into it. Boys were fired up all night. They were out for blood. I take back ever saying maybe to move off Dilly (although it was more because of injuries) I f*cking love the guy back there. He makes everybody feel 30 pounds heavier.

This team is really tight. They were LOVING Wainwright's fight. That fired the boys up so much. When he came out of the box they mauled him on the bench. Love to see him stand up for himself. He's been terrific on L4 this yr. Never pouts either.

A couple Soo guys were chirping Pastujov & the entire F unit started getting into it. Especially Anderson who was begging one of them to step up.

At the end Filak & Sandis were pretty upset that they just can't buy a break & Voit came over & sat with them for final 45 seconds. Seemed to be giving words of encouragement & patted them both kn the back. Great leadership & exactly what u wanna see.

These boys play for one another & when teams do that & are this skilled it can lead to special things. Should be an awesome game Sunday.

Tremendous effort by the entire team. Let’s enjoy the next few months because they’re gonna be special.
No snickering up our sleeves though - I’m afraid next year we will look a lot like the SOO.
7 wins… 15 to go.

Has there been a better addition in the league this year than Pastujov? 16 Goals (3 game winners), 30 Assists, +22 in 24 games for us..

Over a 68 game season that pace is: 45 Goals & 85 (!!) Assists for a staggering 130 points while going +60. That's pure lunacy.

For reference the last player to hit 130 points...... PATRICK KANE in 2007!!!!!!

Also, how about Sikic! After starting very slow, Marko has 5 Goals & 16 Assists, +9 in his last 18 games. Doesn't show how damn hard he works in his own end too. Nobody back checks harder maybe in the entire league than him & he's a big reason y the PK has been so good.

While he isn't physical he's a heart & soul player because he literally does anything & everything for this team including playing T4 minutes on D at points. So happy to see his turnaround. He deserves it

Burke hit 30Gs tonight too! Only took him 36 games! Crazy stat for him is this season his longest goal drought is 3 games & those were games 2, 3 & 4 this season. Since his longest is 2 games which only happened twice..

Dilly and Anderson are terrifying opposing teams. Anderson skated by the SSM bench at one point earlier in the game and pointed at the entire bench and called out every single player on SSM. Like it didn’t matter who…lol. Love what he and Dilly are doing to willingly be ready to take on anyone. Brings a big intimidation factor to this team.

What a turnaround from just a month ago. We’re meaner, tougher, faster and our goal deferential went from -8 to +24 !! Crazy numbers.

I gotta give props to Sikic. Guy was driving me crazy all year. Always left me wanting more and he’s definitely taken advantage playing with Pastujov and DBB. He’s looking like a legitimate top 6 guy when I think most of us didn’t see it happening. He’s been a big part in all this success. I shall enjoy a slice of humble pie with my morning coffee :towel:

Big game on Sunday is right! I hope the different jerseys my daughter designed don’t change the way the boys play.
Thanks again for everyone’s support during the contest.
We’re currently ‘stuck’ in Mexico because of the weather conditions at home. Days worth of delays, but there are worse places to be storm stayed. Hoping to make it for puck drop on Sunday, because Annie is supposed to drop the puck.

When that guy cross checked Dillingham from behind Dilly skated by their bench staring at them & yelled "your all f*cked now" lmao. Not a surprise they calmed down in the 3rd lol.

Anderson is awesome. This effort late in the 3rd up 10 is what its all about. Has to rub off on the team. Seca said when they got him 1 big reason was to instill championship work ethic, attitude etc. Can tell the team loves him. They were so happy when he scored.

Dont sleep on Way either. I was skeptical at first, but hes been as good of a 4C as we could've asked for. Does so many little things & has actually been scoring a fair bit. Excellent on the PK & in the trenches
