Absolute domination.

What a road win. I don’t mind the slow starts if that’s how we are going to finish lol.

LMAO Gaudreau just photo bombed a Kitchener fans picture at the end of the game :laugh:
5-2. 0.913 sv%, 2.40 GAA since returning. Looks like a kid having fun & that is confident. Fricken love to see it

Let's fricken go. 5 in a row. 8-2-0 in January. Only allow 2 goals or less in 8 of the 10 games. Im so impressed by this teams buy-in lately. Every guy, even the superstars are backchecking there asses off.

Though he didn't have a point I thought Voit worked his tail off. Pastujov is a superstar. DBB has found his footing here. Dcore is playing lights out & are scoring a ton. Ben has found his game.

So many things to be excited about. Hopefully it's a packed house Friday where we look to make it 6 straight Ws.

Good game, seeing some good chemistry out there finally. And what about Ritchie, kids been playing great !
Such a stud. Never makes mistakes. He's a big reason y PP2 is looking so dangerous. Same for Vilmanis who's been making some great passes on it..

Their whole Dcore has been so damn impressive. Their breakouts are so clean & effortless. When there isnt one they skate it out well. Been defending absurdly well & been mean. Dillingham was pleading with some of those guys to drop them. Imagine When Hoover is back? Can't wait. Tho Fischer has been very steady for a 16 yr old!

He looks so much calmer. One big thing for him has always been rebound control and that is spot on right now.

Another point-less night for Voit. Crazy we've been scoring so much & he's barely been apart of it. Teams have definitely tightened up on him but he's still generating. Just not getting the bounces.

And I think he's really trying to play winning hockey. He isn't trying overly dangerous things. Being smart & careful. Working hard. while youd love points thats a team first mentality from the guy who lead the league in Points for 4 months.

He really does. His movement, rebounds, reads have looked great. With this defence u don't have to make all these crazy saves.

Been awesome to see. Hopefully he & the whole squad can keep it going. This has been super fun & awesome to watch.

The special teams are a huge reason for the teams recent success. The PP is at 42.9% and the PK is at 95.7% since the trade deadline. That is insane!
Funny enough I still wouldn't even say the PP has looked good. Least PP1. Doesn't feel like they are really clicking.

PK has been unbelievable. Giving up no free plays, no missed assignments or gaps. Always making sure they get enough on clears. Believe Staubitz works on that so major props to him

Since Del Mastro joined the team (Jan 12), the team has scored 18 third-period goals and given up 6. They’re just stepping it up and locking it down.
It’s just so nice to watch this team do its thing without wondering what kind of disaster waits around the corner.

What a month January was for the team..

Record: 8-2-0. 16 out of a possible 20 points

Goals for: 45 ~~ Goals Against 22 ~~ Goal differential: +23

Shots For: 326 (32.6 per game) ~~ Shots Against: 240 (24 per game) ~~ +66 differential

Only allowed 30+ shots one time (@ SSM of all teams lol)

PP: 13/34 (38%)

PK: 26/28 (92.8%)

Goalies: Gaudreau: 5-2, 0.913 sv%, 2.40 GAA ~ Surzcyia: 3-0, 0.958 sv%, 1.33 GAA

When leading after one: 6-0-0. When Leading after two: 7-0-0. Outscored teams 19-8 in 3rd period.

Up next is the hardest month + 4 days of the season! 15 games in 29 days. LDN X4, SSM X3, NB X2, WSR, OTT, SAG, SBY, FLT, GUE. I think this team is ready for it. Should be fun.

Definitely. Ever since he returned there's been a very noticeable uptick in his enthusiasm. On top of getting his game back in form u gotta remember he hasn't had a half ass team in front of him once before this year. Finally having a good team has to be super exciting. Goes for Burke, Dillingham, Ritchie, Voit, Mast, Kyrou too.

I'll be rooting for you guys once Rangers evidently don't make the playoffs or get swept in the first round. Heck, I'm a few losses away from just rooting for you guys now.
Not sure its the wisest thing to leave disappointment for more eventual disappointment...

Haha. Shocking KITs play this yr. On paper they have a top 3-4 roster. Was hoping to make the trip last night as I haven't been to the Aud since our last playoff series but couldn't make it. Such a great rink & atmosphere.

Feels like i/we could praise a different Dman every day of the week, but I've been really impressed & happy with Mast's play since Del Mastro arrived.

He & Ritchie have formed a dominant 2nd pair. Probably a fair argument to call them the league's best 2nd pair. Not saying they 100% are but definitely in conversation.

We've always said when he keeps it simple he's a stud & he has been. IMO the best stretch of his OHL career. Making so many good plays on both sides of the puck. Really using his reach & showing off some good offensive instincts. If there's one thing Letang as a coach seems to specialize at its getting the most out of his Dmen.

Last 11GP: 3G, 5A, +10.

its nice to see the coaches getting some credit for the latest success after some of the real negative comments back before Christmas when injuries and other things were stopping the team from a lot of fans imagined superiority.

I never agreed with the Letang criticism tho at times maybe it was warranted. He's very smart & sees the game well. I'm almost always in agreement with his POV in things. I'll be the first to admit I've never been a fan of Staubitz. Seems like a great guy & the players seem to like him I've just never known exactly what he brings to the staff.

Haley I've never really known either I just know he's super vocal on the bench which is nice. Letang seems to let his assistants do a lot more than Hatcher did & I'm sure they appreciate that.

Props to them though! They've gotten this group to buy in. Special teams are on fire. Hopefully they can keep it up! Not to mention if one day theres ever a massive brawl good luck taking on our coaching staff 😂😂

Another crazy stat for the Sting lately is over the last 6 games they have only allowed 34 (!!) Shots in the 3rd period.

Only 5 on average. That's a staggering number. In all of January (10 games) they only allowed 75 Shots which is 7.5 on average.

Most they allowed was 11 twice & 10 which were the first three games of the month. With Del Mastro in the lineup they're averaging 6 Shots against in the 3rd period.

It's been pretty ridiculous to watch honestly. They've gotten up in these games & shut the game down entirely. As of late they've shown that killer instinct too which is huge. Big test will be doing it vs some of the top teams we'll be seeing in the coming weeks. We will need to see a slight uptick in 5on5 scoring IMO but everywhere else they've been looking awesome.

I knew the 3rd periods were good when I mentioned it on Tuesday but I didn’t know it was THAT good. Looking forward to this weekend & beyond.

We've talked it up so much I am fully expecting a 3rd period meltdown tomorrow haha.

Letang spoke to the observer & he's very pleased with their play & how they've stuck to their system & game plan lately. Mentioned how they have to stay humble & hungry as well. Let's hope they can because 1: winning is fun & 2: we want a top 3 seed.

Humble & hungry = a hard working, competitive machine.
