There it is. Wow. Cost both. Only one 2nd & two 4ths is fantastic from a picks perspective.

The team is all-in. Buckle up.

Steelheads have now picked up Van Volsen, DeZoete, Martone, McDonnell, Zidlicky and a ton of picks. Nice rebuild. Some solid youth on that team up front now. They already have some very good young d-men and goalie. 2 year window for this team.

Man oh man, despite being a rival of the Spitfires I actually hope the squad can give the fans a long playoff run, that's a ridiculous amount of young talent traded the past two months, leaving the next few years with a Niagra-like roster. Sarnia has traded their 2020 1st, 2021 1st, 2022 1st.

A lot of pressure to win now. If there is one fan base that deserves a long playoff run its' you guys. Enjoy your team the rest of the season.

First off wish Angus & Porter the best in MISS. Two guys who ALWAYS gave 100% effort & have great careers ahead of them. Its gonna hurt to watch them tear it up (least its in the east) the next 3-4 seasons. Terrific teammates as well who will 100% wear letters for Missy in the coming years.

The trade is a costly one, but I am happy with it. Only one 2nd & two 4ths as the picks is great. Still have a 2nd, two 4ths to work with if they so choose.

As for us. They are about as all-in as it gets. The last three 1st rounders all traded along with Daviault & 90% of are available picks. This is an OHL championship level roster & it's one of the best rosters Sarnia has ever had. I'm not sure there's ever been more pressure on a Sting team because the next few years are gonna be bad. really, really bad.

They need to add a 3rd liner to replace what they lose in MacDonell (IMO) & they'll finally be done.

Let's go for a ride.

Seems a bit underwhelming, there has to be a second part coming after the season. Del maestro himself could have gotten three 2nds and a couple of 3rds. Martone is good but usually see much more in a deal. Same for DBB.

See the Harrison deal for the value of DelBelBelluz. Fair trade IMO considering the pick value of McDonell.

Martone is a big name prospect. Not all ‘06s are the same and this deal proves it. A 5th overall pick being traded as a 16 year old is a huge deal. Massive. You can’t expect a basket of picks on top of that. Not realistic.

Mississauga values the players over picks and they have done extremely well acquiring the three young players they managed to acquire.

Well what’s done is done friends so let’s just sit back and hopefully enjoy a nice run. No sense worrying about next year(s). Worry about that then. This franchise has put themselves on paper, in a really good position to go deep, and potentially all the way if what’s on paper plays to its expectations. In my opinion, this is the strongest roster this team has had since I’ve been watching in 2005.

Go enjoy the games, this might be as close as this team will get for another 25 years 🙃

Ball is 100% in Gaudreau’s court right now. Can’t possibly ice a better team in front of him.
Here we go!!
Terrifying it all falls on him with his recent play. You wonder if they are at all lurking for a decent goalie just in case he doesn't find his game.. If he does rediscover his game.. Good lord this team will be deadly.

Without a doubt this is the best defence we've ever iced. It's outrageously stacked. Potentially the best in the OHL. The top-6 is beyond lethal. Sikic/Filak make two 3rds of a really solid 3rd line.

Heck our 2nd PP unit is gonna be something like Vilmanis, DelBelBelluz, Del Mastro, Ritchie, Filak.

Biggest thing is they gotta come together as a team. Cant be all flash & dash. Gotta play like they did last night. If they do the skies the limit.

Weird people are now all the sudden saying Sarnia is going to be bad the next 3 years like we haven't been bad for the last 25 years... 3 years is nothing. imo we were going to be bad anyways may as well shoot for a exceptional status player the next couple years. Looks like Sarnia is rolling with Gaudreau .... which is terrifying.

oh its AT LEAST finals or bust. No way around it. When u spend this much u better win some kind of trophy at the very least.

Now that they have traded 2 bottom six player, they will need to be replaced. Still need 2 more strong bottom 6 players to make a solid run. We have some D that need to be moved now as well as minimal picks to get done... All in now!! Let's finish and do it right

2017 ? Or 2018. One of the two. Lost to KIT rd 2. Before that it was 2015 & before that it was like 2008. Never gotten past RD2 in their 30 year history.

Actually on 2nd thought, we choked & lost in rd 1 in 2015 😂😂

I think this team needs to get a solid two way 3rd line vet to fill out the bottom 6. As for the goalies if they don’t pick up another goalie the Sting definitely need to start off playing gaudreau against weaker teams for the next month to get his confidence back and slowly up the competition for him. Also don’t play him as much as they did in the first half and get Suryzcia more time/experience down the stretch. That should take pressure off gaudreau, keep him rested and allow him to get his confidence back. It will also allow Suryzcia to get more experience and playing time incase he has to play in playoffs. I think he’s played well besides for the one London game while gaudreau was gone. That’s the way I’d do it. I wouldn’t toss gaudreau right back in and play him 90% of the games left. I’d probably go 70% gaudreau and 30% Suryzcia down the stretch.

What about

Watson or dintio and Ivanovo for Mac Donald and pick or two

Fully agree. Filak-Sikic & another solid winger is a really solid 3rd line. Especially when Marko plays like he did last night.

Preferably be a stronger more powerful forward who brings physical play.

I'm just not sure there r any goalies out there. Hopefully Ben plays tomorrow vs a weak Erie team & plays well. Next weekend though we have PBO & OTT. 2 super stacked teams who r also going for it. Should be a helluva weekend.

I wanted Ivanov awhile ago but he's really struggled the last month-ish. Not sure he'd be much of an upgrade on Surzycia at this point.
