Apparently some people REALLY don’t like being told not to lean so far forward in row A that they block the people behind them

That was one of my pet peeves at Ducks games. I'm 5'0", so I'm already at a disadvantage. Usually it's someone who doesn't go too many games and doesn't know the etiquette, but sometimes some people know, but don't care.

I guess. To me the lower you go past top ten the more you're kind of crap shooting it. Kids in the 20-35 range may be better than most of the 240 or so selected but their potential to reach regular NHL roster player is still far more questionable than guys taken top 15. To me it's a distinction where all these kids you mentioned not panning out is just not good drafting but I don't know that it's bad drafting. They didn't have what it took to continue progressing once they got to the AHL level. Happens with kids picked in that range all the time. Getting useful players in that range is more of a win than an expectation. I guess that's the best way I can frame it. There's always like 2-8 or so kids in the second round who end up NHL regulars and can be very good ones at that, but it's not like there's teams out there that consistently hit on those players. It happens that they pan out every now and then for just about everyone. A lot needs to go right in development.
Some of those picks were considered a reach at the time though.

Missing so often on their 2nd round picks is a lot of what kept Edmonton irrelevant for so long.

Ya 5 v 5 play has been pretty close (without looking id say favoring ducks slightly)..... but man were never going to go back to being a good team if we cant start winning the special teams battles.

31st on PP (12.9%)- League average is 21.4, so 8+% under league average
27th on PK (74.1%) - league average is 78.6, so 4.5% under league average

aint going to do much for us... take into account how many 1 goal games(pre empty net) and your looking at the difference of being a playoff team and not being a playoff team.
Our PP is sad.

Our PK should improve as the Leo’s / Cutter’s / Gaucher’s of the world start getting some minutes, at least I think. Which I have to assume, is some form of sheltering the kids minutes at this point. But who knows

I’m hoping so!
You and all of us I assume hahaha

Aren’t gaucher and Myatovic supposedly net front dudes on the PP ?

I always saw Gaucher as more of a PK/4th line guy... Id hope he never sees powerplay time.

I dont hate the Gaucher pick as much as others, and i dont mind that hes not destroying the AHL.... because i think hes the kinda guy that translates fine for a 4th liner... and seems like a character depth guy that youll want for playoff runs down the line... Travis Moen type is my hope.

Now could we maybe have gone for a more upside guy with that pick .... sure but how has that worked for us in recent years.

Why bother keeping the young players in Anaheim if you're just going to platoon them on defense or bury them on the 4th line? They would be better served in their development if they get sent down to San Diego and get more playing time.

Any row it shouldn't matter, even. The best is when a dude who is a huge, so he doesn't need any help seeing, leans way forward, and even better is when they do this when there's no one sitting in front of them. Happens with whoever sits in front of me all the time.

When the broadcast mentions Groundhogs Day:

I haven't seen that movie in about 15-20 years. But really, it's a good option as opposed to watching the Ducks do the same thing over and over again. At least you get to laugh and have a good time watching the movie versus feeling angry or depressed after watching a Ducks game.
