I believe he said he's going back to school in Switzerland and will continue playing pro there. Don't think there's much of a chance he comes to the Sting

Obviously you'd welcome Reinbacher with open arms because of how great he is, but I prefer him not coming.
We already have to many Dmen & most are young. We won't be in contention this yr so even tho he'd help us win some games I'm sure it would be at the expense of a Campbell or Omeri getting to play & likely they'd want out.
Even next yr I'd be hard pressed to envision us being anything more than a decent team. Would prefer those guys getting to play, develop & they'd be with us when we hopefully are in contention again.
Also, Gaudreau invited to Lightning rookie camp.

Guess he also works for a head hunting employment company.I kind of get the feeling that he’s in no hurry to come over here/play hockey.Which I’m sure the Habs will downplay.
He’s going to be a very good player for us.

Import draft tomorrow at 11. Best case scenario IMO is a 17 yr old dynamic F who can stick around for 3 seasons.
So he can grow with the team & hopefully be an elite import come his 19 yr old season when we hopefully are good.
But those arent super easy to find obviously lol. Dont expect it to be a D or G. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a C.

Sarnia goes with Roman Kukumberg. 6'0" LW. Played well at the U18s last yr. PPG in U18 league.
Struggled a bit in the men's pro league. Probably didn't get a ton of ice time as a 17-18 yr old.
Seems like many had him ranked for the draft but he didn't go. Maybe he'll want more of an opportunity to get himself drafted next yr?
From what I've been able to find he's a solid 200FT player who's good around the net & has good IQ.

Seca on Kukumberg. Says he thinks he'll step in & be a top-6 F for the team. Really seems to like his game. Says for sure he'll be coming. They contemplated taking an '06 but couldn't guarantee they'd come like with Roman.
Excited to see him. Need all the help we can get up front haha.

Sting pick Slovakian forward Kukumberg in CHL import draft
After keeping an eye on Roman Kukumberg for months, Sarnia Sting general manager Dylan Seca was surprised the Slovakian left-winger didn’t get picked in the NHL draft.

Be one open OA spot as I don't have them keeping Anderson or Way. Just don't see the value in keeping either to push Brown or Doherty to line 4 & Sim/Degelas/Hall out of the lineup.
Honestly, the roster is starting to take shape a bit & I'm not hating it. Gonna have a ton of question marks (consistent scorers, shutdown D, depth scoring), but if Lominac & Kukumberg can step in & be what Seca hopes that'll be huge. I think the LeBlanc bros are gonna have decent years in an infinitely better situation/room.
Fully expect solid to good years for Wainwright, Filak, Sikic, Vilmanis up front. D will definitely be a work in progress but I like the upside of Fischer, Omeri, Campbell, Young, Barr, Hurt.

I've liked everything I've heard about Kukumberg. What would everyone consider a successful season for him if he comes over to Sarnia?

Hard to say. Haven't seen a ton of highlights or game clips. Just reports. Sounds promising.
Considering it'll be his first yr in NA & we likely won't score a ton I'd hope for something like 20Gs & 30-35As.
Somewhere in that 50-60 PT range if all goes well.
Pretty sure there were only three players in last year's import draft who reached point totals like that (Honzek, Mechura, Melovsky). Even higher-end prospects like De Luca and Vilmanis didn't put up 50-60 points. Not saying it can't happen for Kukumberg, but 50-60 sounds mighty optimistic.

Have said a few times I'm a fan of Seca's work as GM & one of those reasons is he seems to be really good at taking guys who will come.
Even guys who maybe won't go everywhere but he has good intel/info that they'd come to Sarnia.
Look forward to seeing Kukumberg.
Even though It didn't necessarily workout he knows how to go for it when the time is right. How long it takes him to get the team back there will be the true measure of his skill.

Staubitz steps down as AC. Wants to spend more time with his family back in the states.
I'd be lying if I said I was his biggest fan throughout his time here, but I thought he improved quite drastically as time went on.
Have heard he was relentless with his work with the players, in video room etc. He ran the PK which was one of the best we've ever had this past season. Wish him the best!
Sting say they'll have a new one to announce somewhat quickly.

I thought that too but I read he wanted to take a break from coaching. Wants to be with his kids & it is to time consuming.
