Probably doubtful as they are gonna go the super young route. Rather give a 16 or 17 yr old ice time than a 19 yr old.

But they might want some sort of experience & keep him around. Local kid too.

hey StingUpdates, didnt get a chance to say how much I enjoyed our back and forth during the West Conf Final. Youre one of the good ones sir.

As to keeping Harper...You need a couple of respected vets to show the youngins the ropes. If you dont you wind up with a Lord of the Flies scenario where there is no direction, no accountability.

I appreciate that, thank you! You were great, too. My bias probably annoyed some, but hard to keep composed when you've waited your whole life for a series haha.

No doubt. Unfortunately for Harper it's not like he himself has a ton of experience because of injuries & us going for it. Could go either way.

GL tonight.

Makes sense.

We got Costantini last fall for a 2nd and conditional 6th. Even though he won the championship as the starter with Hamilton the year before, big value wasn’t there. OA goalies don’t usually big a ton in return.

But if Gaudreau comes back and you put him on the market, I suspect he’d bring good return. A goalie of his calibre would be in demand.

The Ranger’s picked up top end starter Jacob Ingham in the off season in 2019. He was going into his 19 year old season. 6th round NHL draft pick. 2nd round OHL draft pick. He cost the Rangers a 2nd and two 3rds.

The value of Gaudreau may fall somewhere here between Costantini and Ingham.

Sting sign Omeri (RD). Was getting a little worried he might not be coming & Seca mentioned in the article he had other options.

Had a fantastic 16 yr old season for Hamilton in the OJHL. Was one of if not the best rookie Dman in the league. Won the league with Hamilton & made the all-star team.

'06 class isn't looking to bad with Fischer, Omeri, Campbell, Doherty, Hall, Chartier & I thought C. Soares looked terrific at rookie camp & will push for a spot come August. David Green another one who had a good yr but had a lacrosse tournament so he couldn't come last week.

So maybe a rematch in 27? 😄

Sting sign Hughston Hurt (D). Gonna have a lot of D again going into camp.

Fischer-Hoover
Young-MacDonald
Omeri-Barr
Campbell-Hurt
Green-Bridgewater

I think all of them could play ohl minutes so it'll be interesting to see how camp goes.

Interesting. Sting sign FA F, Dennis Lominac. '06 born, played for Compuware the last 3 years. Over PPG each season. 5'10".

Here are some highlights. Looks like he has a great shot. Good hands. Needs to get a bit quicker.

No such thing as too many D. Those kids take a lot of punishment. A few years ago the Knights had 9 defensemen so they traded away 3.

2 got hurt during reg season so they had to cycle forwards back on defense.

For sure. Just puts certain guys in a tough spot. Always want your young guys playing not sitting in the press box most of the yr. But as u said injuries always happen & you can't have enough.

Maybe some off season trades. Would hate to see them sit the way they did this season.

What about Harper, 04 Forward?

Definitely a chance he could be back. As I mentioned before I think they may decide to go younger with guys like Degelas, Lominac, Hall etc.

Never know though. May want some experience in the B6 & somebody to mentor the rookies.

Why shouldn’t he be?
There are other players who made a bigger impact through the year. Sarnia would have done just as well without him.

Full transparency, I have an inate bias against him after the Mike Ribeiro garbage he pulled in regular season in London.
