Hopefully Kosiba reports as he was a late cut from the USNDTP U17 team and maybe he will follow his buddy and teammate Hughston Hurt to the Sting! Let’s hope!
Definitely be nice. He looks like a fun player. We can guarantee him ice time the next 2 years. Always helps.

More I read the more this class is growing on me. I Watched a couple games of Brown's last night. I was a bit skeptical at first reading where he was ranked & and whatnot, but I am a fan.

I am NOT saying he will be anywhere near as good, but he gave me a lot of Konecny vibes. Similar frame & skating style. Is a hound on the puck. Always moving his feet on offense & defense. I was honestly blown away at how responsible he was. He made his Cs job incredibly easy as he was always the 1st guy back, disrupting plays, getting steals while also being great on the forecheck, doing those same things.

Offensively, his speed is great. Explosive for his age. Good set of hands that could keep up with his feet. Sees the ice well & seemed to always know what to do with the puck. He plays exactly how you'd want a C to play, but he's a winger. Be interesting to see if they try & convert him.

If Sim can even get to 5'9/5'10 he sounds like a kid who will be really good.

I think brown will be 5’11 next year pretty sure they expect him to grow abit. I know sim will grow I think he be 5’10. Both guys will be strong on their skates, fast and play with an edge.

Looking at next year's potential roster. Gonna be a ton of open spots for guys to take.

I'd say the guaranteed locks are:

Vilmanis-Filak-Sikic
Brown-Wainwright-???
Doucette-???-???
???-???-???

Fischer-Hoover
Young-???
???-???

Surzycia
???

That leaves 10 spots (6F, 3D, 1G) to be had. 1 will be another import. Potentially 2 OAs depending if they keep Way.

Up front Doherty, Sim, Degelas, Priddle, Hall, Durham, Kosiba? Are probably the candidates currently in house.

On D, Campbell, MacDonald, Omeri, Green, O'Toole, Barr, Hurt, Bridgewater. Chartier the only G so hopefully he pans out lol.

Would assume they add 2OAs so the entire team isn't 16/17. But no doubt about it we will be in for a long season, haha. Probably two. Gonna be an incredibly young team.

Hahah fair! Doesn't much for me either, it just feels like Friday is so far away & I've already said my thoughts on the series so wanted to keep some sort of discussion going.

Looks like we r sending 2 fan buses down along with a ton of ppl who r just gonna drive. The back & forth between fan bases is gonna be really fun. Hopefully everybody can remain civil... lmao.

Where do you see MaDonald going. He is pretty solid on the back end. Campbell will be there next year as well

I'd assume he's back I just had him on the fringe in case they decide to go younger & give his spot to an Omeri/Barr/Bridgewater.

Yah I like Campbell & probably should've been a lock but we haven't seen him play at all since December so he still has to earn a spot in camp.

Fischer Macdonald
Hoover Campbell
Young Hurt
Barr

Possibles (O’Meri, Green, bridgewater, Reinbacher)

Bridgewater I heard is a great skater and and has good offensive skills but he needs to learn to play better defense, I think he could maybe play a year of Tier 2 or Junior b to develope a bit more.
As for O’Meri and green who knows if they might be considering the school route.
Hurt will probably need to play top 6 for the most part considering he reported from the states.
Reinbacher would be a huge get on the backend. If he doesn’t report then we will get a import draft pick

Yah I watched a few games of his (Bridgewater) last night. I really like him. Tremendous skater. Moved it really well & was very confident with it.

He was engaged defensively which is nice, but definitely needs to get stronger & know when to take risks & when not too.

For a 5th RD pick I'm very happy with it. Definitely has the tools to be a good OHLer.

Watched 1 game of Sim & he was fun. Plays very fast & energetic. Good skills, too. Hopefully, he can grow like his brother & we might get a good one. Hearing a lot of good stuff about Barr. Think he might be the one to snap our 2nd round pick curse haha.

I guarantee Sim will be atleast 5’9 I’m thinking more 5’10/5’11, but he’s fast and will be solid for his height and plays with an edge.
I agree with Barr real good skater sounds like he will be like 6’2 , plays good in both ends of the ice.

When is the U18 Draft & Import Draft.
Maybe we can draft another BUG U18 & an import dman.
Could see it. They've done well on U18 for goalies. I hope they go F in import if Reinbacher doesn't come.

We desperately need some high end skill injected into that lineup. Problem is most of the time imports usually only come for 2 years & we won't be good for those 2 years. Puts them in a weird spot. Probs try & target a 17 yr old who'd be here 3 seasons but that's been a rarity for us.

Nice interview with Seca about the draft! He is very excited. More so than I've seen him be about a draft class. Seca is “really, really excited” about the draft class.

“You always leave every draft happy and confident, but this one feels like a special group,” he said.
“Those three are going to be real fun D to watch in our league,” Seca said. Talking about Barr, Hurt & Bridgewater. Said Hurt has a lot of similarities to Dillingham & Bridgewater is one of the elite skaters in the draft. "Very excited to get to work with him"

Kosiba they think would be an elite player, but they'll have to convince him to come. Their scouts had Beamish (8th rd) significantly higher. "Good skill, plays both ends of the ice. Good utility player we think has got a bright OHL future.”

They are very high on Quinlan (G). Said he's a great, great prospect. One of the best Gs in North America in his age group. (We’re) just banking on the fact that hopefully he, at some point along the way, wants to play in the Ontario Hockey League.”“We’re pretty optimistic there’s some traction with Quinlan down the road,” he said. “We also will bank on the U18 draft for a goaltender hopefully, too.”

Lastly he talked about Luecke, who would've went pretty high if he was for sure OHL. Like how confident he sounds about the chances of getting him over.

“Very crafty around the net, good stick, can score, smart. We kept in touch with him throughout the year just as a player we were intrigued by. I feel pretty confident that we’ll see him here at some point.”

Certainly love his optimism/confidence in the class, but also how he talks about the Americans they took. Outside Kosiba, he sounds genuinely confident in Quinlan (who'd be a massive get) & Luecke (who'd also be a big get)..

I think old Mark Hunter is buttering up the Sting. I can see him now in his green and gold Devil costume and wringing his hands saying this with an evil smirk on his face. Don't fall for his charms. Things will change quick after one game. Go Sting!

The Telus Cup is happening this week and two Sting prospects are participating. Lane Sim, our 3rd round pick on Friday, is competing with the Pictou County Majors. Christopher Soares, an 11th round pick in 2022, is playing with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Soares and JRC actually beat Sim and the Majors 3-0 on Monday

In person ticket line looks like a thousand people strong. Guess I won’t be making any games to Sarnia because they’ll be sold out by end of day. Sucks for sting fans who don’t live in Sarnia. Especially the ones who have supported this team for longer then the band wagon fans that are buying up the tickets just because the team happens to be good this year. The more I think about it, the more pissed off I am.

@Otto, I take back what I said on the London board about this the other day. Apologies. You are correct.
