In person ticket line looks like a thousand people strong. Guess I won’t be making any games to Sarnia because they’ll be sold out by end of day. Sucks for sting fans who don’t live in Sarnia. Especially the ones who have supported this team for longer then the band wagon fans that are buying up the tickets just because the team happens to be good this year. The more I think about it, the more pissed off I am.
@Otto, I take back what I said on the London board about this the other day. Apologies. You are correct.
Respect for this post!
That was much my concern and posted as much. It can alleniate the long term supporters in favour of a short term thought.
Again I totally understand an ownership wanting the home strong crowd. I do. But really, if they were concerned too many opponent fans would scoop tics it suggests issues with the long term model. Build up the season tic base thru solid team results, offer them first dibs and it shouldn't be an issue.
Heck even offer up first dibs if you buy some sorta package for next year, seasons, 10/15/20 game packages....whatever. That would helped the bottom line next year also. Short sighted.
I personally enjoy the Gardens wirh a 1000 opponents fans in the building.
I hope long term time Sarnia fans who get shut out of tics, voice their opinions to management in hopes of improving the system down the road.
Many ways to manage it, ensure a Sting string crowd AND benefit the orgs bottom line next year. Those who gave support over the last 5-10 years and couldn't make it down for whatever reason are the biggest losers here in this situation.
The Sting did so much right this year and very well could/ probly will continue that path. Hopefully the short sightedness of ticker sakes management doesn't pull this again if they make the finals. ( I'm guessing they don't with the much longer drive for the opponent).
I feel for ya Ferda11. Sucks. (And others maybe in a similar sitiation)
