U18 Draft goes today. Seca said they'll take a goalie as they usually do in this. They've had good success with Thornton & Surzycia. Goalie coach Franky Palazzese has become a secret weapon for them in it. He works with a ton of goalies in Ontario & has a lot of connections.

See if they can get another one. Not much hope in the other picks, but you never know.
Sting pick a goalie with #15 pick in the 1st Rd U18
Nate Gillis Toronto Nationals.

Seca quotes in the 3 picks from Sting website:

On Gillis~ "Nate is a goalie who our Goaltending Coach Franky Palazzese is very familiar with. He has played on some excellent teams and put a lot of work into his game. We are excited to see him in Sarnia”.

On Mandarino~
“Julian is a player that we liked at the end of last year’s Draft, and we figured he should have been selected. He is a strong skater who competes well and leaves everything on the ice.”

On Ferrante~ "Nicholas is a skilled player who put up huge numbers last year. We hope his game continues to improve and we are excited to see him at training camp in September.”

Ferda has been throwing empty Sarnia Sting beer cans at me as I walk past his apartment. I was just looking at his Sting jersey draped over the balcony. I hope you and I will still be friends after this series. Lol!

Well sting had a much needed rest. I hope the flu bug or whatever was going through their dressing room has past and all players aren’t sick anymore and are ready to go. Most players should be 100% or close to it. Letang and staff I hope did LOTS of homework on the knights system and how they play with a tone of speed at each end of the ice. Hope they have the boys prepared for that fast style of play and have them all prepared to play quick and hard for 60 minutes each game, because it’s a necessity. Go sting go!

Can honestly say I've never been legitimately nervous days in advance of games like I have been this week.

I've seen seen my favorite NHL team & NFL team play in the biggest game/series, but I have never wanted a team I cheer for to win more than this series.

Gonna be a stressful, nerve-wracking 11 days starting tomorrow. This group can do it. Full belief in them.

Can’t believe people have tickets for sale to the sting home games for $200. Also can’t believe the sting allowed people to buy 10 tickets each. Max should have been 4 per person. Also tickets should have only been available in persn until like 1 not the full day.

Don’t get me started. This whole fiasco with the tickets has left a very sour taste in my mouth personally. Don’t think I’ll be supporting the financial side of things for this franchise going forward. I’ll stick to catching the boys on CHL TV, in London and in opposing team barns going forward! 20 years a fan through thick and thin and some first time bandwagon fan got tickets before I could because of my geographical location. No thanks. I’ll always support the on ice product though!

Luckily I’ll be able to catch the games in London thanks to @GoKnightsGo44 !! Always tight games when we take in games together. I expect these matchups won’t be any different! Here’s hoping to a 7 game series!

Buckle up Sting fans, we might not get an opportunity like this for another 28 years lol.

Well. We've waited nearly 30 years to play in this game. Officially game day for the 3rd round.

Get out there & play OUR game. Right from the start. Don't chase hits, don't be overly energized & take a bad penalty. Even keel from minute one until whatever the last minute is.

Let's have some f*cking fun too. :bee::bee::bee:

I'm honestly not sure what to expect from this series. To me it comes down to offense vs. defense.

The Knights haven't yet had to face an offense as powerful as the Sting's, but the Sting have yet to face a defense as adept as the Knights'.

Perhaps we'll get some clarification on the age-old adages:

"Defense wins championships!"

and

"The best defense is a good offense!"

I guess we're about to find out which is most true!

Personally, I hope we kick your ass, but if we have to lose to anyone, I'd prefer it to be the Sting. Congrats on getting this far!

Enjoy the ride fellas....should be a dandy!!!

Sarnia has a pretty adept defense too; Guess we’ll see. I echo the sentiment of most posters here, hoping for a good series that the refs stay out of.

I think the Windsor series moved the needle on this.
