Absolutely love stuff like this. Sting social media team sure have come a long way. Brown sounded beyond excited (borderline hyperventilating haha)

Landon Sim was Drafted in the third round and was also 5' 6" at the time. This may be a steal.
Scout Steven Graves said Lane Sim is “an excellent skater who moves well in all four directions.

“He is a shifty player that consistently has his feet moving – he isn’t afraid to be physical and shows flashes of a high end skill set,” said Graves in a player profile. “At the same age, Lane is probably better than his brother.”

I’d imagine sarnia takes some swings and goes for some American players with their 3 x 8th round picks. Maybe even their 5th rounder too. I think they should get a canadian they know will report with their 4th.

Both Americans we have drafted today have been from Detroit Little Caesar’s. I wonder if the sting have a good connection with them also wonder if they will come over together.

a lot of guys under 5’9, hardly 150lbs being picked….interesting.

Sarnia has done good with recruiting from the Little Ceasers program over the years. I’m sure we will see both those picks at camp this summer.

Not the draft I was expecting. Ton of smaller guys, multiple American guys & 5D taken & only two Cs taken first 10 picks & both are below 5'10" (as of now at least)

Certainly like the upside of our defense in the coming years with some of the D we've picked the last 2 drafts, but scoring goals will be a challenge.

Every year there's always comments about the size of kids drafted. Keep in mind these are 15/16 year Olds. My son was 5'9" at 16. At 18 he was 6'1" and stopped growing at 6'3"

Agreed and almost all our picks are 5’9/5’10 give them a year probably be between 5’11 and 6’1. Landon Sim was drafted at 5’8 and his now 5’11 I imagine same will happen for his brother who is suppose to be a better player.

No you guys are definitely right. It's just always scary to bank on them growing. We just went thru having to small of a team & having to retool the roster a bit because of it.

But at the end of the day, if they felt those were the best players available & they happened to be sub 6 foot then what can you do. Not like we've had great success in the draft with bigger Fs anyway.

Be interesting to see what Seca says about all the Americans they took. Surely 1or2 of them they have good communication with. Clearly targeted speed, too as a lot of these kids can fly.

Work to do up front, but pretty pleased with the future on defense.

Have Young (18) & Fischer (17) already with good experience & showing well. Campbell, who showed fairly well as a rookie, Green (2022 5th), Omeri (2022 8th), and O'Toole (2022 10th), they are all high on/have hopes in.

Now they add Barr, from whom all accounts has all the traits of a stud Dman one day, Bridgewater im excited about as many think we got a steal with him & Hughston Hurt (elite name) sounds like a very promising Dman, too depending on what route he takes.

Letang & Co have shown, too, the thing they are best at is developing Dmen. That's 9, guys. Obviously, not all 9 will pan out or even play OHL, but even if 5 become solid OHLers, you're happy. Think your starting to see Seca covets having a really strong defence.

Reports on Bridgewater & Beamish. Sounds like their 2 best "value" picks of the draft.

Kosiba is an interesting pick too. Sounds like a very good value pick if we can get him to come over. One of the final cuts from USNDTP and was the third leading scorer on Little Caesars with 135 points in 80 games. It will be interesting to see who takes him in the USHL draft on May 2nd

He just followed me back on Twitter. All the confirmation I need! Haha. Hopefully they can get him & the other US kids out for the home games vs LDN.

Now the big decision.. Do I wait until game 1 to crack them open or try them tonight during the Leafs game & hope I like them so much I go for another batch by Friday 😂😂

These guys cover the draft every yr. Watch a lot of these guys.

They go thru every pick & were quite complimentary of our selections. Seems like for them, at least the guys we took were ones who kept improving as the yr went on.

Brown @ 25:40
Barr @ 55:15
Sim @ 1:15:20
Hurt @ 1:36:10
Bridgwater @ 2:15:50

They like Kosiba, Quinlan & Luecke quite a bit, but mentioned NCAA interest, so took gambles there.

Looks like Hurt will be coming. Figured he would taking him with the first pick of day 4, but never know with where he played. Sounds like another Dman with a lot of tools to work with. Read he is physical which with that name I was hoping he'd be haha.

No question, I think ya gotta wait, n Crack the first during anthem or pre game Friday, BUT buy another batch before then to ensure adequate stock for another series or 2 before they sell out.
Get whatever else for the Leafs game tonight lol.
Great idea thou, local brewery?

Yah imperial city brew house. Partnered with them as the playoffs started. Been a huge hit. Sold out at the game & at the bar. Just got a new batch & they are selling quick again.

Can confidently say I've never seen the city buzzing more for the team. Signs are on windows, stores are putting Go Sting Go on their billboards. Just so awesome.

Quinlan will definitely have NCAA interest as he is commited to USNDTP U17 next year.

Hopefully Kosiba reports as he was a late cut from the USNDTP U17 team and maybe he will follow his buddy and teammate Hughston Hurt to the Sting! Let’s hope!
