Man I love this kid, so jealous....

Too bad no one knows who he is.

Everyone's always Vesey this, Vesey that, when it comes to talking about young Rangers forwards.

I'm American and I get tired of it. I just want someone to talk about the actual superior talent for once, instead of the more hyped one.

It probably has way more to do with the fact that he's only played in 10 NHL games, where-as Vesey has played in 40 AND also had that whole circus around him with his not signing with Nashville and signing as a free agent.

Buchnevich has had a LOT of hype IMO, and as soon as he starts playing regularly again, it will be back.

Had an assist in his first game back with the Rangers. He was one of the few players to play well in a loss, but only played 10:43 because the coach decided so. He won't play tomorrow. They don't want him playing back to backs yet.

The Rangers lost last night, so it seems like AV lobbied the doctors to let him play, and they allowed him to.

He played tonight, got an assist, and played well again. 4 goals 6 assists in 12 games. Top 10 in the league, I think maybe now top 5 in p/60.

Last six games he's recorded a point, although 4 of those games were two months ago, but in his first two games back, he's been very good.

A goal and two assists tonight.

Now has 13 points in 13 games.

Hasn't missed a step, aside from the usual mistakes or hesitancy you'd find in a first-year NHLer.

Here is another russian prospect meeting the expectatons after being patient and developing in Russia instead of the CHL.

I don't follow the Rangers THAT much, even though I do, but can anyone explain this to me? One bad game and Buch pays and has to play less than 10minutes a game? **** that guy's good, he'd be playing top minutes with half the teams out there..

AV is famous around here for putting players in his doghouse. Not quite Torts/Kreider level, but it's still extremely frustrating

Some teams really don't like the 1st year rookies hitting bonus thresholds. Maybe this is orders from the GM type of treatment?

Its literally the worst. Gets me so mad.

AV has this mindset where only one of Buch or Vesey can be in the top 9 at a time, and since Vesey scored a nothing goal where he banked it off the goalie for a terrible goal a few games ago, Vesey now plays on the top line with the best players and close to 15 minutes a game, and Buch plays on the bottom line with grinders, and less than 10 per game.

The whole problem with this is how people regard Vesey. Vesey has been an AHL level player the last few months, Buch has been excellent, yet AV's decision making works in a way where they are equal players and he'll change things up based on every little thing that happens, whether it goes along with the general pattern or its a complete fluke. Buch and Vesey should not be pitted against each other. One is legitimately producing as a top 6 forward, maybe first line forward with the ice time he gets. The other is really struggling to play as a 3rd line forward. I'd have to think the "Vesey Sweepstakes" is carrying him a little further than he should be going.

Unless it cripples their cap next year, I can't see the Rangers being that cheap.

Reminds me of how Therrien screw with his line-up every damn game, when it's not within the game itself.. Galchenyuk per example, is the kind of guy who you just let go, do whatever he does best, and give him minutes (minimum 15/game and PP time), but Therrien always seems to find a way to downgrade him and make him pay. As a fan, it ****ing blows, not gonna lie, especially since he's Montréal's most exciting young player. Put the kid on a line with Radulov and let them work their magic for f*** sake!

It is not "cheap". Some GMs have this philosophical mind set.

Rags also have Vesey's bonus to worry about, although it looks like Buch will outplay Vesey with a wide margin.

They don't have to worry about a Vesey bonus. He gets top line minutes, and still doesn't score. He belongs in the AHL, but when I say this on the Rangers board, a lot of fans get upset.

Vesey absolutely does belong in AHL right now... But unfortunately it wont happen. Id imagine a handshake guarentee to be in the NHL was a part of his negotiating during the Vesey signing process

Buchnevich's contract doesn't include performance bonuses. Vesey's does, but the only ones he has any chance of hitting are the games played bonus and the bonus for goals (he has 12 goals and needs at least 20 to hit a bonus, assuming the threshold in his contract for that bonus isn't higher.)

Vesey is the only player on the team with performances bonues and the Rangers have plenty of cap space for whatever bonuses he earns.

Just so people are totally clear about the situation, the lack of points in recent games is due to the lack of minutes and line mates. This was from yesterday on the PP. He's still playing well, makes no sense that of all people he'd be on the 4th line.
