He also is on the ice for a lot more d-zone starts than o-zone starts. Thats what playing on the fourth line will get you.

AV should change that, and I was one of the people that said he shouldn't have been put on the 4th to begin with.

I feel like Buchnevich has the potential to become the Rangers' top threat on offense in 2-3 years. The confidence he has at his young age, combined with his size and shot will probably give AV no choice but to play him 16+ minutes sooner than we think. Oh and the kid's got this russian face that I just love.. only cracks a smile once every 4 games :)

Impressive run. Whom is he playing with? Dailyfaceoff has him on the fourth line still: http://www2.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/lines/32/new-york-rangers

He's on the second line, playing with Zibanejad and Zuccarello.

HF doctors said he needed back surgery. They were wrong. 2-3 weeks isn't that bad, although it'll probably be close to a month without playing once he's ready to return.

He's finally back on the ice with the team. Non-contact jersey. Expected to be able to play again around mid-January.

That being said, AV doesn't have an accurate timetable as of this morning (didn't speak with docs recently).

Hopefully he picks up where he left off. He's missed 1/4 of the season at this point.

Still has a 4 game goal scoring streak active.

AV always does that. Its so annoying.

Acts so dumb, as if he doesn't have daily conversations with all the management types so he doesn't have to answer the question.

What can you do though to challenge him when he just claims ignorance to the situation?

Buch has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack and will start playing tonight.

Officially, it's not a conditioning stint. But come on...we all know it's unofficially one. This way, NYR don't have to deal with waivers or the cap/roster implications as if he were officially on a conditioning loan.

He doesn't have to clear waivers for awhile. He has either 3 years or plays 80 nhl games, whichever happens first.

Edit: May have misunderstood your point.

Yeah, he'll be down there for a week for a rehab assignment, and will return for next Friday's game against the Leafs.

Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play in the B2B, but makes his return against the Stars on the 17th. Plays in Hartford through the Rangers break, including the double-header @ St. John's on the 13th and 14th. After the game, he flies back to NYC, gets officially recalled on Sunday or Monday morning, so all the paperwork is squared away, and then take part in team practice presumably on that Monday.

That being said, I'd be happy seeing him return for the Leafs game.

made his return to the ice last night in the AHL and had a goal. Apparently looked great out there.

I cant wait for him to get his legs back and be back in NYR lineup. He was so fun to watch before he went on the IR

The way he played yesterday, I think he would've done fine with the big club today. It was an NHL player playing in the AHL, he was very good.

I think anything other than back for Friday's game against the Leafs is unnecessarily cautious.
