Boeser will be one of the exciting rookies to watch next year. My guess would be a top-3 contender for the Calder.
Canucks will still be terrible next year though. Bottom 3 in the standings. Benning's retooling on the fly and remaining competitive has obviously failed.

I fail to see how Boeser will be a top 3 contender of Calder if the Canucks are still terrible. They have no scoring and I don't think Boeser will outscore the next leading scorer by 20+ points. Only way Boeser can contend for Calder is if Canucks magically find chemistry next year and have a few 70 point guys and a dangerous powerplay

Next years crop of rookies doesn't look to be anything special. Who's there?
Connor
Puljujarvi
Strome
Debrincat?
Keller
Jost
Chabot?
With a relatively underwhelming crop of rookies if Boeser puts up 25 - 30 goals I could see him being a candidate. 4 goals in 9 games with a bum wrist this year. That said he looked pretty slow out there 5v5 so I don't know how realistic it really is.

Yes but winnepeg is a high scoring team. Laine had Schiefele. The canucks don't have anyone to complement BoeserWinnipeg are a mediocre team (on the rise) and yet Laine has been superb in his rookie season fighting against Matthews. The competition for next year seems lesser, so if Boeser is given every chance to get points as Laine has had, then I don't see why Boeser couldn't at least compete.

Remember when Boeser won't have the time or space to launch his shot in the NHL?

I have VERY high expectations for Boeser this season but can we please not make comments like this til he actually starts doing it in the reg season??? I know last season 4 goals in 9 games was fantastic but please i think this too much and setting ourselves up for some disappointment
Dont get me wrong PD i really hope he blows the league away and gets 50 goals and tbh i see some crazy great potential in him hence my username![]()
